Today, many people think that an huge amount of money can make you happy. I think this is not totally true, becouse money can't represent happiness at all. It's true that being happy allows you to buy everything you want, for you or for others, but what you can buy are only material objects, that usually are not enough for the happiness. Indeed sometimes, to be able to earn an huge amount of money you need to become nearly a machine, without emotions and consumed by greed. When this happens, people and familiar tend to avoid you and leave you alone.
Indeed, according to science what makes us happy is only human relationship, and for this aim money are very usefull, but only if money don't make you greedy asnd you keep your altruistic nature (if you have).
source:https://www.inc.com/quora/money-wont-make-you-happy-heres-what-will-accordin.html

The money in today's time is essential but we don't know if they are positive or negative and if they make a person happy or sad . The society is based on money and therefore without money you can't do much but not even having a lot of money you can't buy some things. But it isn't important how you spend it and it is here that you understand that money is positive or negative . Money doesn't have life , so it's not bad or good , but you understand it based on the person who uses it . This money can lead you to depression . Too much stress doesn't let you rest and spend more time on yourself and this depression can't all pass through it . In my opinion there two components important that make happies : 1) is the family and satisfed rhat your life is good .2)joy ,affection and tranquility .It is good to have money and things that money can buy , but it also good , everyone now and then , to check and he sure that you have not lost the thing that money can that buy.

In my opinion, money does not make happiness. A person is happy when he has fulfilled his wishes. We are even more pleased if we received something thanks to our work. It is true that when we receive money we are happy, because we can buy something we care about. But after a while we are not happy, because we don't achieve this with fatigue. This is also affirmed in the Easterlin Paradox.
" The paradox of Easterlin, also called the paradox of happiness, was formulated in 1974 by Richard Easterlin, professor of economics at the University of California, member of the National Academy of Sciences.

According to Easterlin, people's true happiness depends very little on changes in income and wealth. The Easterlin paradox is very simple to explain. The economics expert noted that when income and economic prosperity increase, human happiness increases, but only up to a certain point, and then begins to decrease following an inverted U-curve. "
The second factor is "leisure time". This factor connects to the first one. Rich people pay paople to do something in their place. This often creates loneliness because you have nothing to do. Often the paid person also can hurts the work assigned to him, creating problems and wasted of time. Even if the work is correct, often you are not satisfied because something done alone is more satisfying than something done by another

RITA SAURO_Does money make individual or social happiness? Is money essential to be happy?

The question we all ask ourselves is: do money make happiness?

Well, it must be said that today money has a foundamental importance in our society...
indeed it's difficult to have a good lifestyle in absence of money.

According to some studies Aristotle was the first to argue that money does not make happiness, he discussed : "wealth does not produce happiness".

Even Adam Smith, considered the founder of modern political economy, with the opposite paradox underlines how "the son of the poor works day and night to acquire talents superior to his competitors" driven by the decepton that the rich man is happier or has "greater means for happiness". In reality the rich man can consume little more than the poor, who has less worries and better social relations than the rich, who continually lives in anxiety for his goods, and grows only old and disappointed for not having achieved happiness and also envied by his fellow citizens.

Although many think that it is not wealth that makes happiness, there are many people who think it is different.

The money and the "wealth" allow us to do a lot of things, starting from primary goods, like buying food or an house and many other important things.
However, it is different to say that money is important to say that they are indispensable for our happiness!
So, at this point, the main question is: "How does the link between money and happiness seem to be very real?"

We must know that

there are two components that contribute to our well-being:
a kind of evaluative happiness, that is "the feeling that one's life is good: you are satisfied,
and emotional happiness, which measures the frequency with which the individual experiences positive emotions as joy, serenity, happiness.

Income is therefore, in some way, associated with well-being and well-being with happiness. In fact, according to me it depends on this, because there are people who prefer to spend their money on the purchase of material goods rather than experiences such as travel or concerts, as these are considered tangible and more enduring.

The relationship between wealth and happiness would seem to be negative ... more income brings more health, education, opportunities, but in advanced countries the higher income is associated with a super job that has, in some cases, negative effects on the person and less time for the relationships with others and for friendship.

Useful wealth is what is needed to satisfy basic needs, to be able to lead a dignified life. So far we are sure that wealth contributes to well-being.

It is easy to think that wealth automatically produces happiness. In everyday life, however, we happen to know many people of fair economic conditions who find happiness in the truest things in life: in the affection of the family, in knowing how to be content with what one has, in friendship, in facing the dignified beautiful and ugly moments of everyday life.

When a person, to accumulate money, becomes stingy and his life is dry because he is not interested in everything around him. Accumulating money becomes the sole purpose of one's existence. Instead, many humble people, with their dignified behavior, their ideas and their power of sacrifice believe in the true values of life to build a better society.

So, in my opinion, wealth makes happiness when it allows us to overcome the difficulties of every day with serenity, and especially when we are willing to help others.

I think a lot of it depends on what you spend your money on.
Therefore, money can be your access to things that can lead to happiness, but not necessarily make you happy just by having money physically in your hand, on the internet, or in your credit card. I also think that there are two things in life that it is difficult to buy with money, the other things are trivial and you can easely buy them, the time and health, if you have a lot of money but you have an illness independentely from the number of your money you will not be happy

But not everyone thinks the same way.
Indeed, economist Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolofers in a study publshed in the National Bureau of Economic Research, say that '' We have discovered very clear proofs that in all the nations of the world the rich are happier than the poor. And the population of the richest nations is happier than that of the poorest nations ''

But you can't buy the time, the time lost at work, with that time you could find your half, spend time with your children, with your friends. As lot of us said, money are important in our society.

It is impossible to deny it! Nowadays more and more people say that the famous phrase "Money does not buy happiness" is false! And numerous studies done by psychologists and scientists seem to confirm this.

"We have discovered very clear evidence that in all the nations of the world the rich are happier than the poor. And the population of the richest nations is happier than that of the poorest nations ". The economists Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers say in a study published in the National Bureau of Economic Research.

To make people happy is not so much the money, but how you spend it! Ryan Howell, a professor of psychology at San Francisco State University, found that, contrary to expectations, people think that buying material goods is better than buying life experiences like concerts and travels.

Actually "The experiences of life meet a larger part of our psychological needs" Thomas Gilovich, a psychologist at Cornell University, says "We often share them with others, which gives us a broader sense of connection, and form our identity. If you have climbed the Himalayas, you will surely have something to remember and talk about forever. Even long after your gadgets have gone to landfill. "

Moreover another important point in the analysis of the link between money and happiness concerns a variable whose price is often not quantifiable: the time. If you want to be happy, recommends Elizabeth Dunn, an associate professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia, "Use the money to buy your time better. Do not buy a more luxurious car to have heated seats during your two-hour day trip to work. Buy a house closer to work so you can use that extra light to play in the park with your children. "

In conclusion, to be happy it is not important to have the latest fashionable phone or a super-equipped car because the felicity of these material things will vanish, but it is important to know how to use the money to achieve your goals and to live a fulfilled life with your loved ones.

"Money has never yet made a man happy and never will.
There is nothing in its nature that can produce happiness. The more a man has, the more he wants. Instead of filling a void, he creates one. "

Benjamin Franklin

The problem is that today's society judges a person on the amount of money it has. However, it is not said that rich countries with a well-off population from an economic point of view are really happy! Money does not make happiness but money has become the centre of everything, desired, coveted, purported. In general, the more things you have, the more things you want. It is an infinite vicious circle, as in the myth of Sisyphus.

There are many examples of rich and unhappy people. Individuals who come to commit suicide because they realize they do not know if those around them are really their friends or are just customers looking for favours. They do not know if they are loved or simply exploited to obtain benefits. When you subordinate everything to wealth, as often happens, you end up becoming a "product", a "thing". You begin to see everything in terms of economic benefits and to treat others as if they were merchandise but while you accumulate goods, you will become empty in other aspects of life, you will remain alone with your money.
So are you sure money can make you happy?

When you think only of money and material goods, you do not even have time to enjoy what you have. We forget that most of the most important things in life are free and are within us, they have nothing to do with possessions and material goods. Loving and being loved are priceless!

Obviously, money by itself is not a bad thing; what can be harmful is the use made of it. Because money is necessary to live, but not for this we must renounce our essence or what we would like to be. In fact, wealth is within you and not what you own. They can take everything from you, but they can never take away what you are. If you are more than the money you own, you can always start over.

According to researchers at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, there is no amount of money in the world able to buy happiness. The New Zealand researchers, who conducted a study, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the journal of the American Psychological Association, say that

"the true key to happiness, serenity and wellbeing, personal and social, is freedom , the possibility of choosing every aspect of one's existence in complete autonomy, without conditioning or imposition."

At the end Oscar Wilde wrote

"Happiness is not having what you want, but desiring what you have"

and if we stop for a moment to think about it, it's really true!

In conclusion yes, money can makes you happy! However only partly, the happiness given by money is temporary. To buy a new thing makes you seemingly happy, but all this will vanish soon.

So what makes us really happy?

In 1938, Harvard University in the United States began a research called "Study on Adult Development". The main objective of the researchers was to determine what makes us really happy. The study continues to this day and is, in fact, one of the most complete that exist on this subject.

The thing that makes us happier is the quality of our relationships!

"We have found that the brains and bodies of the people most satisfied with their relationships, and that establish a stronger connection with others, are maintained in a better state of health and for longer," Waldinger said.

Many people to the question "what would make you happy?" they answer that fame and money are important, they believe that if they were richer or more famous, they would have more value in the eyes of others, which is false. It is true that fame and money increase popularity, but often those new relationships are not authentic, they are not based on a genuine estimate. Many people are close to those who are rich and famous only for the benefits they can get, but not because they feel a sincere affection towards them. To build quality bonds, we must be generous, good, patient and empathetic. In life, the problem is not finding "special people" with whom to make wonderful bonds. The real problem is being able to be ourselves in our relationships.

At the end I think that everyone, after all, want to be loved. This is the thing that makes us happier. It does not matter how much money you have on your bank account, or how expensive your car is. What really matters are things that cannot be bought, true happiness can be achieved with the people you love, with your family and not with your new phone!
