The most challenging part of the week was trying to get shots that look like they take place when they are supposed to. For some of the shots in my video I had to change my system clock on both of my computers and I had to wait for the right time of day to get the correct natural lighting. The most valuable thing that I learned was how much making a shot list and storyboard streamlines the process of actually shooting a video. While it still takes time to get the shot correct, knowing exactly what shots you need for a video before you start recording is really helpful. This was valuable as I usually don't put that much planing into shooting photos or videos and prefer to just try to find interesting shots in the moment, but when I'm trying to tell a story I see how helpful planning can be now. I think my life in seconds project went very well, and I think I was able to tell a good story out of it. One issue I had with it were trying to record the clocks on my computers, since they are so small and a screen recording becomes very pixelated, but using an actual camera makes it harder to get the right shot. For example, in part of my video I want the date to be hidden, but it is right next to the time so I had to make the clock off center. The only other issue I had was that a couple of my shots had text in them that was important to the story, but since each shot was only 1 second they could be kind of hard to read. I think that if I were to do this project again I would try to find some way to make the text easier to read, like making it giant on the screen, or try not to rely on any text to tell the story. One other minor thing is that iMovie only says the time of each segment of the video to the tenth of a second, so it is hard to get a precise length for each clip.
