- Levels of frustration could be high because they may not be able to communicate. 

- They may fall behind.

- Some students may not get the attention that they need.

- Teacher's may run into issues with assessment by not being able to understand the child, even if the child is capable to communicate, hey may just not have the proper tools or language base to do so.

- Families of ELL students may not be able to support the child at home.

- Classroom space may be the only place where students get this support with learning the English language and it could be hard for the teacher to give that student one-on-one support.

- Students may feel self-conscious.

- Students may not be able to make friends easily. 

- Referring to ELL students as EAL could get confusing because the terms are different and apply to many situations and depends on the context of the student.

- Challenges following/comprehending instructions.

- Hard for them to make friends
- Struggle with school
- They are all immigrants
- They don't try hard enough
- That they are fluent in their native language
- If you cant articulate yourself in one way (writing) that you'll be equally articulate in another (reading)-- this applies to all learners too
- Can actually be proficient in English, but are often assumed they cant
- You'll be able to know which students are ELL. Assumption that some particular communication styles are more important than others
- Assume that English is a second language if they speak another language
- Difference in social and academic English. Heavy focus on categorizing students based on their academic performance
