We make decisions, but do you think about our future and how it will be affected? Everyday we continuously make our preferred option. Those options don't just affect the current moment, They echo throughout our lives. People make choices since we can't have everything we want. All of our choices have some opportunities to changes things. By making choices we get to know what is right or wrong. Without making a choice, nobody can get the things they want. Making your own decisions makes you responsible for what comes out of what you chose whether its good or bad. Making your own decisions allows you to learn from your mistake.

One can look at past economic and cultural trends and be able to make predictions of what will happen next in today's world. World history enables us to understand different cultures. World history connects the past with the present. World history matters because it helps us as individuals and as societies to understand why our societies are the way they are. The answer is that World history is necessary. World History helps us understand how the world works.

Historians often reach different conclusions or answers from the same evidence. There are several reasons for this. Every historian approaches the past with his or her own values, priorities and political perspectives. These perspectives shape the way we study, understand and make sense of the past.

Taking historical perspective means understanding the social, cultural, mental, and emotional settings that shaped people's lives and actions in the past. Indeed, taking historical perspective requires comprehension of the vast differences between us in the present and those in the past.

Yes the decisions past generations have made have made us get education and learn and to learn more things. As we grow up we can get jobs. This helps ups to take care of our health and to stay fit. We have family rules to get along with others and to keep good grades. The choices we make help us to remember our family from long time ago and what they used to do. Because for example we have rules and laws, and if we follow the rules and laws you will not get fines. It helps the world because if you don't follow the rules you can get a fine and go to jail. Sometimes we don't think about how today will eventually become history. A long time ago there were no fines in the UAE and the rules in the UAE were that cars can be off road and there were no rules. The Father of Sheikh Zayed, there were not very many rules for traffict. After Shehk Zayed was born, he made more rules which in turn made the UAE a safer place.

History has been the root 'definition' of everything that happens in this world, even if someone read a small book, that would be history, as that happened in the past, we choose only the biggest events as 'history', like wars, new countries, pandemics (referring to current times), death of important people, among others. In history, sometimes, the true events are shaped into new and false stories, which ultimately leads to new disputes on which event is correct, for example we don't know how Dinosaurs head died , but some people say that is because of climate change ,yet others say that it is because of an asteroid, this is just a dispute as we do not know the real truth about how they died, if there is a person who thinks that they died of an asteroid, then they gradually get used to thinking that ,and that is how this world history has influenced our thinking, if what happened in the event is already known and confirmed and is the true story then we start connecting it to other things to make whole new theories on other events that have not been understood yet. In history the many things that can influence our thinking, even in other countries there are different points of view from the people of each country ,maybe one country knows their history, yet another country has tried to make it a false story. These events have happened in real life, I am not trying to make it offensive to all those countries but it is truly said that the truth is the truth! Their Minds have been influenced by what they think as they have forced their mind into thinking their theory, we also know that a ball is shaped like a sphere so it would be very weird if I said that the ball is a Triangle, again, same thing, this is how it has affected and Influenced our thinking about the world and the things we see and learn.

World History is important because it records the past and everything that is factual.

History experts use historical maps for several purposes: As tools for reconstructing the past, to the extent that maps provide records of features, landscape, cities, and places that may not exist any more or that exist in dramatically transformed form. As records of certain historical processes and relationships. Maps can be powerful visual tools that provoke us to think about the how and why of history. Yet it's my impression that in many history classrooms, including my own when I started teaching. Maps are something of an afterthought. We might occasionally look at a pull-down map or include a map in a handout. Maps have been one of the most important human inventions for millennia. People have created and used maps to help them define, explain, and navigate their way through the world. Earliest archaeological maps include cave paintings to ancient maps of Babylon, Greece, China, and India. In the past people used to travel by boat and needed to use maps, they travelled to find out more about history. Maps help us know where places are located. Maps are essential tools in interpreting history. History is all about the relationship between people, events and places.

Traveling helps you connect with local people and learn about their religion and their history. Traveling also helps you understand the backstory and context to what’s happening now. It is like someone coming to your house from another country and they have no context or understanding of the history and religion of yours. It also helps you understand cultural values or beliefs of that certain country. World history shapes these cultural values. It also may make you more interested to learn about them. The world is full of so many cultures, beliefs, religions, languages, etc.

In history there are many things that can influence our thinking, people from different countries have different points of view. What happens is the event is already known and confirmed, then we start connecting it to other things to make a whole new theory on other events that have not been understood yet.

A long time ago there were no fines/rules in the UAE, which has influenced our thinking in another way, for example, many years ago, there were not many rules for traffic, which made risks higher for people on the road. This has influenced many people’s thinking which is why we now have rules/laws.

Minds have been influenced by what they think, as they have forced their mind into thinking their theory. We also know that a ball is shaped like a sphere, so it wouldn’t make sense if someone said that a ball is shaped like a cube. This is how world history has affected and influenced our thinking and the things we see and learn.

In the past, we chose only the biggest events as “history”. Like wars, new countries, pandemics, death of important people, etc. In history, sometimes the true events are shaped into new and false stories. Which ultimately leads to new disputes on which is event should be “history”, for example we don’t know how dinosaurs died or became extinct, but some people say it’s because of climate change, yet others say that it’s because of an asteroid. This is just a dispute as we don’t know the real truth about it.

Research: Madhavi and Faris
Editing: Clarissa and Shahd
