Pizzabrøk
En pizza er et godt eksempel på brøk. Hele pizzaen havde 5 stykker. Der er 3 stykker tilbage. Dvs. at der er
tilbage af pizzaen.



En brøk er en måde at vise et tal på ved hjælp af en division.

En brøk består af en vandret streg med en tæller øverst og en nævner nederst.



Et eksempel på en brøk kunne være:



Nævneren viser hvor mange, der er i alt. Dvs. her er der 3 dele i alt.

Tælleren viser hvor mange vi har. I det her tilfælde har vi 1 ud af 3.

Hvorfor brøker

Hvis man f.eks viser 5 : 6 som en brøk


så giver regnestykket 5:6=0,83333.... og kan dermed ikke skrives præcist som et decimaltal.
Selve brøken er derimod præcis.

En brøk bliver også tit skrevet med en skrå streg som for eksempel:



Dette skyldes ofte, at brøken med den vandrette streg f.eks. ikke kan skrives nemt på en computer.

Navnet på en brøk
En brøks navn består af tælleren og nævneren.

For eksempel:



har navnet: "En fjerdedel", hvor "En" er tælleren og "fjerdedel" er nævneren.
