Business Function: Measurement Tool
Accounting: % Variance to Expence Budget: Quality, yield according to expense budget limits AND %Projects on Time Scope and Budget: change through projects which are measured in terms of budget, scope and time.

Sales: Gross and Net Profits: Gross Proffit says weither your unit economics are effective and if you need to reduce costs in producing the goods AND Closing Rates: Amount of qualified leads that convert to sales.

HR: Retention of talent: Amount of talent retained in company (high turnover = high costs) AND Average time to achive goals: time taken by employees to achieve set goals in job description.

Marketing: Number of new customers acquired AND Cost per customer/acquisition AND Return on investment per ad spend: how much profit you make from the cost of the ads.

Operations: %Compliance to BOP's (operations processes), AND % Rework costs to Total costs: the percentage of the costs of reworking products out of total amount of product costs.

Jennys Happy Cafe:
Change Measurement Tools she could use for her new venture:
Accounting: % Project Milestones on Time: she could use this KPI to discover if customers were indeed staying over an hour, and how many and if this was on time (under hour over hour?)

Sales: I would choose the KPI of Gross and Net Profits for her then she can work out if she needs to reduce costs further in her goods or increase them for each unit sold.

HR: I would use Retention of Talent KPI: if she is going to offer counselling in probably an unusual way (usually done in quiet spaces), then if she is retaining her counselling staff or not should tell her pretty quick if idea is beneficial for all!!

Marketing: I would choose the KPIs of number of new customers acquired, social media/brand awareness rates, and return on investment for ad spend.

Operations: I would choose KPIs of % of Average Production yield (the production rates of cafe - especially if you trying to offer counselling AND cake :-) ) for working out how the counselling is also contributing to more sales?
