The last activity can be completed in pairs, where one student asks a question about each day and the other answers. Then they can ask each other about their weeks.

Learners have to fill the gaps with the correct Past Tense form of the verbs in the brackets. The text is about Harry Potter's story that many, if not all, of the students already know and will certainly find interesting to read. After the gap-filling exercise, the students will have to complete a language comprehension activity which is based on the text. This activity should prove more entertaining than most common exercises that the students usually do, solely from the fact that ii references a fictional hero that most students are accustomed with. The last activity can also be completed in the form of Questions & Answers between the students, in which they will ask and answer questions to one another.

This is an activity that covers a wide variety of past tenses and it allows students to develop critical thinking as to which past tense is used in each gap and for what reason. It is also an activity that engages students with the ability of storytelling through the reading about historical events, in this case the fire that destroyed the Crystal Palace in London. So, after completing that task, the teacher can also ask them to write their own story using the past tenses and also referring to a past event, historical or not.

A worksheet designed for young learners to practise the prepositions (in, on, under, in front of, etc) and the verb to be. It can be used as a revision worksheet during the Christmas break. At the same time, students learn vocabulary used about Christmas. It is perfect for visual learners as it uses an image from which students have to detect where each item is and write the correct preposition. Hope you like my ideas!

It is a speaking activity in the form of a board game, in which learners practice asking and answering questions by using the past tense. Moreover, it is an activity with information questions through which students interact with their classmates and socialize, resulting in promoting the classroom dynamic. Therefore, the activity suits the mixed learning styles and the multiple intelligences of the all students.

After filling the gaps in the first activity, the students can complete the second activity by:
1. Answering to the questions by writing them down, either at home or in the classroom (as a test). The teacher can then collect the students' answers and correct them at home or correct them together in class.
2. Answering to the questions orally. This could work in a private lesson with a small number of students (2-4 students, so each student gets to answer at least 2 questions)
3. In a bigger class, the students can divide in pairs and ask the questions to each other.

After the students have completed the second activity, the teacher can have the them answer the questions again, but this time only by looking at the picture.

Combining grammar with vocabulary and drama (extra fun specifically for those Ss of bodily- kinesthetic intelligence) - Anastasia Basli

This is an activity that could be done in order to help the Ss enrich their vocabulary since they encounter everyday phrases which they need to know in order to communicate simple activities of their everyday life. It also assists in practicing the Ss' knowledge of the Past Simple tense as they are required to rewrite the sentences by changing the present to the past tense. The vocabulary encountered seems also to be relevant to the Ss' age, interests and level of proficiency. However, I would also have them carry out a dramatization of the pictures and their matching sentences in order to make the lesson more interesting. For instance, after doing the exercise I would divide them into 5 groups of 5 and have them choose a representative who would act out a picture and its meaning without his/her mates knowing it. The team with the most correct answers wins.
*The theme of the worksheet might not have to do with the Vikings or pirates in general but is instead related to our holidays which conjure up the image of the sea just like the Vikings subject does. The T could therefore initiate a discussion with his/her Ss (after their having completed the school book exercises) relevant to travels and the sense of getting to know other cultures. In this way the theme of holidays could be considered relevant and henceforth appropriate as an extra material.
