At the equator, the temperature is on average higher and the region does not experience cold and hot seasons in the same way the Northern and Southern Hemispheres do. This is because the amount of sunlight the reaches the equator changes very little, although the temperatures do vary somewhat during the rainy season.

Diameter: 12,742 km.

Rings: Earth doesn’t have rings, and probably never did. If there was any ring of dust orbiting the planet, we’d see it.

Moons: The Earth has a single moon.

Another interesting facts:
The earth is not really a sphere. We are protruding around the sun at 67,000 mph. And that most of the fresh water of the land is enclosed in Antarctica.

It also has water ice, methane ice and ammonia ice. There are also tiny amounts of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons such as ethane, acetylene, diacetylene and methylacetylene

Average temperature: Minus 153 degrees

Diameter: 31.763 miles

Moons: The five great moons of Uranus: Titania, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel and Oberon. Uranus has another 10 satellites with diameters below 170 km, which rotate near the planet between 25,000 and 60,000 km from the surface. The latest discoveries (August 2004) reveal the existence of other small satellites, up to a total of 20.

Rings: The planet Uranus has a system of rings intermediate between the more extensive set around Saturn and the simpler systems around Jupiter and Neptune.

Another interesting facts: A year in Uranus is equivalent to 84 terrestrial years.

Sir William Herschel was the first to discover Uranus, on March 13, 1781.
