14-year-old girl Dolly took her like in January 2018 after being subjected to cyberbullying. Through the loss of their daughter Dolly, Tick and Kate wanted to create a social media awareness campaign to help other families. The family’s goal was to establish a trust called ‘Dolly’s Dream: to raise awareness on not just cyberbullying but bullying, anxiety, depression, and youth suicide. They also created the hashtags of #stopbullyingnow and #doitforDolly, which have been used all around social media. Kenneth Weishuhn a 14-year-old-boy has sadly passed away after taking his own life due to cyberbullying. Kenneth’s family and friends described him as a happy teenage boy until he came out to his friends at South O’Brien High School that he was gay. The bullying allegedly began online when his peers created an anti-gay Facebook group and made him the subject of the page. Kayla Weishuhn, Kenneth’s sister stated that it was not only his classmates that began bullying her brother but also his friends. However, the cyberbullying didn’t stop at the Facebook page, Kenneth then started to receive death threats from his peers to his phone. Furthermore, after Kenneth death a Facebook page called Remember Kenneth James Weishuhn was created to create awareness of cyberbullying and the affects it can have. The page received more the 2500 members and hundreds of messages of support.
