• In 1963, Betty Friedan published a book called "The Feminine Mystique" which hit many people's nerves.

  • In 1966, Betty Friedan and others formed a group called NOW (National Organization for Women). It was dedicated to the "full participation of women in mainstream American Society."

Rose Will Monroe is a confident female worker flexing her muscles with the words emblazoned above: "We Can Do It." The Rosies were bold, breaking down barriers and proving, without a doubt, that women could accomplish the same tasks as men.

When I look at the politics and the government of Japan right now(for example the "Member of Parliament"), I can see that there are many more male assembly members.

"Although 51.7% of voters are women, the percentage of women in the House of Representatives is 10.0%, and the percentage of women in the House of Councilors is 26.0%. (The percentage of female members of the House of Representatives is as of February 13, 2023, and the percentage of female members of the House of Councilors is as of March 30, 2023.)"

Workplace discrimination is a problem because it is not fair to have a gender payment gap, glass ceiling and lack of representation, pregnancy discrimination, and work-life balance challenges.

I would be glad if there would be a declaration by the politicians. This improvement could cause more people (especially women) to work which can lead the GDP per capita to increase.

Japan is one of the countries that doesn't allow same-sex marriage. Japan only allows marriages between females and males. I think Japan needs to deal with this problem and improve this situation immediately.

Efforts to promote women in leadership involve addressing these challenges and creating more inclusive environments.

I wish if an event will occur where women have chance of leading something.

The government in Japan had a goal since 2003, that they want to have at least 30% of women in leadership positions. But it turned out only 9.7% are women in parliament and 9.9% are women in government, and they are both ranked 166th (out of 191 countries) which is quite low.

By having more women, I think the opinions wouldn't be biased just by men. If the goal is 30%, I don't think it would be possible unless they do something a little further, because right now, we can't see the intention of making the rate higher.
