So - one of the best learning experiences of my life happened in Wales, on a residential swimming course. I could already swim, in that head-above-the-water style that doesn't get you very far..... The teacher was wonderful. In my one-to-one lessons he supported me to become a 'proper' swimmer. Goggles on, head down, breathing like he showed me.... in my mind I was gliding through the water like a mermaid! A girl can dream..... Because we work alone a lot of the time, we try and get regular meetings between teams working in the same areas as well as on the same projects nationally. It's important to share and reflect on practice and process. We've also started a 6 monthly 'all team day' which is a mixture of a team building exercises and discussing our strategic direction or new initiatives.
