Those who know me know that I like cinema and studying languages. Thtat's why I find interesting watching films in original version. Days ago I spoke about "To kill a Mockinbirs", one of my favourite films. Now I'll write about "Slepless in Seattle" , a film played by Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. In my opinion it's not a masterpiece of cinema, but it's quite amusing. Its a romantic comedy that explains the story of a widow man whose son wants to find another girlfriend for him and telephones to a radio program.

Last Sunday I could see West Side Story in original version. OH, I enjoyed it so much!!! I had seen the film in Spanish with the songs in English but never all in English. I watched the film with subtitles (in English) and I felt surprised because I was able to understand easily the songs, but I found difficult to follow all the dialogs. I Think that's beacause of the dialogs: actors speak fast and they are use a lot of colloquial expressions. Despite this. I enjoyed listening Nathalie Wood with her own voice.

The author, Patricia Higsmith, is one of the most famous thriller writers in the wolrd.
The novel tells the story of two secret spyes, Tom Ripley and Reeves Minot, who need to kill two important mafiosi capo. To do it, they contact John Trevany, a framer who lives in Paris. They both know that Trevany is ill or chronicle leukaemia. Ripley and Minnot make Trevany believe that he's gonna die in two or three months, and they offer him an imprtant sum of money if he accepts killing the two mafioni men. Trevany accepts "the job" , becoming a murderer and putting himself and his family in a really dangerois situation.
I found this novel really interesting. I recomend it, it's very well writen, I couldn't stop reading it!!!

Having relatives living in other countries is a great advantage if you want improve your level speaking other languages. In my case I have a cousin who lives in North Irekand, in Great Britain. She's spanish, but her husband and sons are all irish. When they come to visit us on holidays I always speak with her family in English. Althoug I don't find difficult to speak in English with them, following a conversation seems harder to me, because their irish accent is quite closed. That's wy I need them to speak slowly. Happily they are aware of my difficulties and they help me!!!
