Fluency is very important for reading comprehension and for students to be excited to read. 
A child will be able to read automatically, accurately and quickly is an important skill when they are learning to read.

Accuracy- I can read words correctly.
Rate- I read not too fast and not too slow.
Expression- I read with feeling and emotion. I did not sound like a robot.

1. Use letter beads. These beads are often really cute as the ones shown in the image. They rapidly attract the attention of children and make them want to play with them.

Moreover, as the child sights the alphabet and tries to connect the right ones, it can be a good push for his motor skills. This is because these beads are tangible, and as the child will find his way to link up the right ones together, he will feel more attentive and active.
2. Play dough tray writing. Play dough is synonymous with excitement for children of all ages.

Both of these activities can be adjusted for children who may have difficulties. This adjusted could be additional time on the tasks, pair group, providing models for these tasks, step by step directions and really breaking down each task. 

Therefore, it can be used very purposefully by teachers to teach loads of important stuff to the preschoolers. Phonics can also be made more enjoyable for little ones using play dough.


Activity Idea at home: 
1. Play dough sight words and letters. This simple activity will help develop their fine motor skills while building their phonics skills. It involves an item children love to play with, they are able to model words and letters using their hands. Strengthening their muscles in their hands and fingers as well as familiarizing them with letters and words.

Activity Idea at home: 
1. Read to your child each day. When your child comes across a new or interesting word, pause and define the word for your child. After you're done reading, you and your child can talk about the book. Building the relationship at home with reading, shows your child you are invested in their education and love for reading. Setting time after school for them, again, shows how much you love them.

1. To practice fluency at home a child can read aloud in a manner that mirrors spoken language. Children will see themselves reading, watch their face expression, how their face moves while they read. They may even want the parent to read for them and see if they are reading just as good as they are. When children see how they are reading for themselves the adjustments will be made. It really is quite interesting.

It makes a huge difference when family members show their support for the love of reading. Then the child will want to continue to read and they'll get better.
