         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Tchaikovsky:"February-Carnival"<br><br></strong>The second month of the year in the Gregorian calendar is February. <br>In Latin the word February comes from the verb:"februum" meaning "to purify" because of religious purification and expiation festivities which were held in Rome during the month. <br>A Russian festival with roots in Slavic mythology called "Maslenitsa" and signals the imminent end of the winter. <br> <br>The great Russian composer Tchaikovsky in the work "Seasons", a work that consists of 12 short pieces for piano, one for each month of the year, inspired by the "<strong>Maslenitsa"</strong> and therefore gives the piece for February subtitle: "Carnival".. <br> <br>A celebration, that Tchaikovsky identifies it with the most beautiful side of Russian life ... <br>Full of light, joy, carefree, dancing and lots of action! <br>Happy February everyone!<br><br>PAINTING: "Maslenitsa", Μπορίς Κουστόντιεβ<br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onxe4g3PV-w">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onxe4g3PV-w</a></div>]]></description>

         <title>Le carnaval des animaux (The Carnival of the Animals) </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Camille Saint Saens, a French composer of the Romantic Era, conceived his best-known piece, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Carnival_of_the_Animals"><em>The Carnival of the Animals</em></a>, with his students in mind, at the Niedermeyer school, but did not finish composing it until 1886, more than twenty years after he left the School.<br><br></div><div>As the title suggests, the work follows a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoology">zoological</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Program_Music">program</a> and progresses from the first movement, <em>Introduction et marche royale du lion</em>, through portraits of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant">elephants</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkey">donkeys</a> ("Those with Long Ears") to a finale reprising many of the earlier motifs.</div><div><em>The Carnival of the Animals</em> (1887), one of the composer's most famous works, although far from a typical chamber piece, is written for eleven players, and is considered by <em>Grove's Dictionary</em> to be part of Saint-Saëns's chamber output. <em>Grove</em> rates it as "his most brilliant comic work, parodying Offenbach, Berlioz, Mendelssohn, Rossini, his own <em>Danse macabre</em> and several popular tunes".</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Hungary the carnival season, (known as "Farsang")is marked by many fun festivities, masquerades, balls and noisy parades that aim to scare off winter and welcome spring. There are many celebrations with the "Busójárás" in Mohács being the most popular, as the Pest's carnival, from which <strong>F.Liszt</strong> inspired his <strong>"RHAPSODY N.9</strong>", known as <strong>"Pesth's Carnival".</strong><br><br>It is a virtuosic work, very cheerful, which integrates songs and dances of the Hungarian Carnival.<br><br>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fYwJjFKtnM <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During his stay in Italy after winning the Prix de Rome, Berlioz inspired several works of this country, the people, art, customs and legends.<br>Among them Overture "Roman Carnival", where sounds dance saltarelo and the duet of love that takes place under the spectacular fireworks Piazza Colonna, as required by the Roman Carnival.<br><br> The work, which is among the most popular of Berlioz, conducted by the composer, this was intended to show the vibrancy and colors of Rome's Carnival!<br><br>When the concert ended at the correct tempo and performance, Berlioz turned to the musicians and said:<br><br>"So runs the carnival!
