At the end of the street, protected by razor sharp trees that stood in line like henchmen was the entrance to the grey distant mystery. Mist was howling through the rusty dungeon gate as if the charcoal gate was for nothing. The light had disintegrated over the valley, only the lonely candles could light up the non-existent path towards the lifeless cottage.

The creepy, broken branches of the trees scraped the heavy, thick, mist that shrouded the entrance of this once-proud villa. The branches were charcoal in colour and were leafless as long as I can remember. Some where little more than sticks and others where massive chunks of decaying wood, once lining the proud gravel lanes that lead into the mansion.

Just below, was the long-forgotten gate that might have originally been silver in colour, but was now reduced to a miserable, rusty black-brown colour. If you look closely, you can still see the century-old engravings overshadowing the untrodden path. When the wind is strong enough, it displaces the gates, creating an unnatural clanking sound with the gate almost flying off it's decaying hinges.
