In my opinion, gifted students are students who demonstrate the capacity for learning at an accelerated rate and/or at a deeper level. The giftedness can be shown in a variety of areas, and does not preclude anyone from having difficulties in other areas. Giftedness does not equate to achievement or grades, but the capacity to think differently either faster or deeper than seen by typical students.
-Pattie

My definition of a gifted student is it is a student who can pick up new concepts rather quickly. It is a student who is inquisitive, open to new ideas, eager to work, and is able to produce their own ideas and ways of problem solving from a topic/challenge you give them or even they create. They frequently think outside the box.
Kari
