It is good to have a well-structured education system like france so that there is a high grade of transparency. In Germany we have 16 systems in 16 federal states. That is too complicated, but therefore we have various systems for different requirements like dual vocational schools.
But as the picture shows the best system is not worth anything, if it isn't filled we life/water :-). My family had many exchange students from France and our children visited them for months. In spite of the reputation of the french education system they were happy to be back again, because there were many boring teachers, the foreign language skills of the french pupils were weak (as they say themselves), and learning without fun in my opinion prevents the students to immerse into a topic. Social and creative skills also get lost.

In my opinion education should return to a more classical approach. Minimum knowledge requirements should be established at each level and constant testing through miltiple choice online questions would give a useful feedback for the student, the parents and the teacher.
In all that, one should add hands on activities plus the development of soft skills, some sports and arts.
Also, as with special education, more opportunities should be given to gifted children.

Education goes hand in hand with personal growth. Teachers help the process but it all comes up to the individual to take advantage. Certainly some educational systems are more effective than others and by comparing we learn.
With the Italian system one big fault is the reputation of vocational education which, with due exceptions, does not provide quality of cultural competence nor high professional abilities. Therefore many unskilled jobs are taken by immigrant badly paid workers....and that produces in a vicious circle less social security for many and lots of what we call white deaths, that is loss of lives at the workplace.
On the other hand our lyceums reach educational heights and our students are welcome and appreciated abroad and often after their university years they are welcome to work in international companies.
To sum up I would like education to provide a solid ground for every individual in society, no matter about the amount of knowledge, but regarding quality of competences and preparation for life, with integration of basic notions of civic rights and duties and law of the country.
Education cannot stand on its own feet without the support of a fair social system and a shared sense of wellness of the community, at least on a national level.

The word ‘education’ comes from the Latin word ‘e-ducere’ which means to lead out. Then a teacher's task is to bring out the dreams, desires, attitudes that are already inside every pupil and just need to come out. In my opinion, the teacher must put his/her students in a position to build their knowledge on their own, not just give them information and expect pre-established answers. Several thinkers, but probably the first one was the Latin writer and teacher Quintiliano, say that the teacher must light a fire not fill a bucket .

Education is a matter of love. (Apostolos)

Education, like everything in life, is a matter of love. It is not a matter of some law or some reform. If the teacher is not in love with what they are doing, the result is, in any case, zero to negative. By "love" I mean what you do for yourself. with passion. With pain. Look the student in the eye and let him know if he will learn what you are teaching him. The teacher, moreover, does not just transfer circular knowledge to the student. It transfers a whole world, since education is an ineffable transfer of juices, transfer of morals, transfer of life attitude. It is not a mental construct. Education is not understood away from society, everyday life, the exchange of opinions and ideas with worthy people inside and outside national borders. As a special educator I believe that the beginning of things is to love – the other, society, your work, life. To care.

In our course many different school systems are represented but actually it’s always the commitment of the teachers to their job which counts the most.
What we have in common is that we share the same challenges: motivation of pupils, the provided material and equipment in school, the consequences of covid, the growing numbers of special needs, etc. But their are different solutions which I saw in exchanging with my colleagues.

The modern approach to education is characterized by a humanistic and mixed approach that is, a student-centered curriculum. He takes into account children's interests and emphasizes them
on the experience and needs of students. Students decide what they want to learn, participate in the creation of the curriculum and share responsibility. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning based on intrinsic motivation,
self-evaluation, observation and discovery. However, this approach does not exclude teachers who guide students, i.e. have the role of helpers and collaborators. The goal is to help the student to become a self-realized personality, and learning content becomes a means instead of a goal. That's the best achieved in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Education is learnt to know, to live together and to be. The main aim of education is the person training, in order that he can reach the “status” of integrated adult. Fundamental is the role of the school and the teacher ability to make in love for study, to arouse the “curiositas” and the passion for research using active methodologies that can make each student protagonist of the educative process. Very important in this process is the inclusion of all persons because the school must not to be like “a hospital that help the healthy and stave off the sick”.
