  • Family 4C album to share on first day (OrmPS styles)  -DW
  • Learning Maps at 4 week transition phase- make the staff and family contribute -SLT & tell
  • Work at home is valued and can be used as evidence towards a learning goal- tell
  • NE transition ideas- “Pre-School Pack”  with activities for them to do beforehand (resources for parents), for anxious kids to have a social story (taking photos of them on their visits to include), transition to school tailored to each kid- recap email for NE at the end of the first week (Narrative Assessment)- inform families if they are not settling/struggling, 4-6 week meeting to update.- composite Y0-Y2 approach with tuakana-teina (process not an event) - WN
  • Each hapu to have a “Family Book” (could align with the mascot or not) -TBD but tell
  • Including in job descriptions ‘our ways’ of including parents (p.17)  DW
  • Book in mystery readers- include parents  KAM
    • Later on...
    • Leaving the how you can help out at home blank- and fill it out at the 3 way
    • Inviting parents to some PLD not just IEP type meetings… interesting…
    • Teaching as Inquiry shared with families of those the intervention applied to
    • Knowing the learner team that includes parents to include the cultural perspectives
    • Transdisciplinary launch at the end of term so the kids can do some investigating over the holidays- celebrate at the end to acknowledge the parent support
    • MATES for parents and educators. 
    • How we frame the next steps as ‘not yet’ instead of deficit
    • Learners to run evenings (get the parents there) eg. Breakfast Maps, Maths Big Day Out
    • Parents- giving feedback on learners writing
    • Parent hub - display and welcome in whare pukapuka/wharekai as an invitational space that welcomes parents anytime and gets used- could also tie in with friday SW hui
