What is environment pollution?
Environmental pollution is the result of any type of human action or work capable of causing damage to the environment.

One of the main problems encountered in cities and in the world is solid waste, the result of a society that consumes more every day.

The issue of garbage is directly linked to the model of development in which we live, linked to the consumption incentive, because we usually get things that are not needed, and everything we consume produces impacts. About 40 years ago the amount of garbage generated was much lower than the current one, today the population has increased,  the globalization is at an advanced stage; in addition, technological innovations in the follow-up of the media have facilitated the dispersion of goods worldwide.
With the large amounts of garbage produced around the world, some problems can arise such as:

 - Contamination of rivers.

- Diseases: the garbage that goes into the open dumps or empty lots produces bacteria and fungi. It also attracts cockroaches, rats, flies, mosquitoes, etc. These animals can transmit serious diseases like dengue, cholera, dysentery, bubonic plague and leishmaniasis.

- Floods: PET bottles, plastic bags and other garbage are taken away with heavy rains. They end up blocking the sewers and even preventing rivers from flowing through their beds. This causes terrible floods.

- Chorume:  it is a foul-smelling and disgusting liquid that the accumulated garbage produces when it is decomposing. The Chorume:  is ten times more polluting than the sewer. This is because, in addition to containing rotting organic matter, it has very toxic chemicals and metals. The Chorume:  contaminates the soil and can reach the groundwater (species of subterranean rivers that exist all over the Earth and that throw their water in the seas, lakes, mangroves and rivers). The more the Chorume: spreads, the more it pollutes.
                                   And how can the world help solve this problem?
 In my opinion resolving this problem is the responsibility of all of us. Not throwing rubbish in the streets or rivers is a great start, we all can also reduce our consumption a little, which, by the way, is a bit exaggerated (buying only what is necessary), and to contribute to the selective collection is a big step, as well as  charge that the municipality fulfills its role of performing the collection and the correct destination of the garbage.
