Using models that have been proven with research and practice to be successful can be very beneficial when starting off to test what really works, what I need more practice with, and what is effective or ineffective with each class. Utilizing graphing technology, apps, and computer platforms or resources to enhance or accomplish learning is becoming more common and has many benefits when used properly. Some of these benefits include better organization, practice into technology and fields that may be used in their regular lives or careers, improved flexibility when networking and working with others, and enhancing or diversifying learning to promote growth and "support a deeper understanding of the concepts" (Ch 7 Wathall). There are times when students can work in a "flipped classroom" environment where students learn on their own when using an online platform, allowing the teacher to assist or teach the students the problems they do not know how to solve. Technology can also be used for bell work, exit tickets, collaboration, games, or lessons w or w/out videos.

Putting What We Learned into Practice

"Effective integration of technology should enhance conceptual understanding and learning for our students" (Ch 7 Wathall). When wanting to progress students through the different levels of technology, the SAMR model can used to first use technology as a substitution tool, and then augmenting the technology by enhancing it to make the learning more effective and/or engaging, followed by modifying the lesson to transform how students engage with the content, and/or redefining the lesson as needed to improve or differentiate the learning experience. The TPACK model consists of 3 main components and when used in conjunction, "represent optimal conditions for successful technology integration" (Ch 7 Wathall). Both models can be used in conjunction of each other throughout the lesson.
