The most well-known sites could be Jeju Island, Gyeongbokgung-Palace, the DMZ, the N타워, and many more. For me, since I enjoy playing sports and activities, I usually look up for recommended activities to enjoy when I visit somewhere. 
This time, if we were given the opportunity to go on a school field trip anywhere in Korea, I would like to visit Jukdo of Yangyang. Of all the facts about Jukdo, what I was most interested was that there is a huge surfing beach in Jukdo.
Thanks to my experience in Jeju, I learned a little about surfing, but ever since Jeju, I haven't surfed for a while. 
The Jukdo Beach of Yangyang is a very well-known tourist attraction for both Koreans and foreigners. The beach is wide and there are all kinds(?) of waves for the surfers. If you are new to surfing, you can use the part where the tides are small and weak. If you are confident with surfing and have a lot of experience, you can use the part where the waves are strong. 
For people who want something else, I recommend the 죽도 전망대, it's called the Jukdo observatory, but I thought it would be better to introduce in Korean, since it will be easy to look up for >o<. If you arrive at the observatory, you can see the whole island in your eyes. Yet, one drawback(?) could be that you have to go up the stairs;; to reach the top. 
Also, you can visit a beautiful cafe near the beach and gaze outside. Oh, of course, there are many great places and scenes to take photos of , so you don't have to worry about your Instagram photos!! ^^
