         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are 5 key steps that are involved in mitosis: prophase,metaphase, anaphase and telophase, and cytokinesis. These steps happen only once.</p><p><br/></p><p>Prophase:The chromosomes get tightened to get ready for separation into two cell</p><p>Metaphase:Is the prep stage where the chromosomes line up in the center of the cell to help them split evenly.</p><p>Anaphase: Is when chromosomes get pulled apart to opposite parts of the cell making sure that each cell gets a full set of chromosomes</p><p>Telophase: Is when two nuclei are created and the cell starts to split leading to the last key step. </p><p>Cytokinesis: Is the last key step in mitosis it is when the cell completely gets divided into two separate cells.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Meiosis has eight key steps in total Split between meiosis one and two, each of these has four key steps prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Meiosis starts with homologous chromosomes pairing up during prophase when this occurs They can exchange DNA through a process called crossing over, which creates genetic variation. In Metaphase l, These homologous chromosomes line up in the center of the cell. Then in the anaphase l, the homologous pairs are separated and pulled to the opposite side of the cell. At last, the telophase l creates two cells each with half of the original chromosomes. </p><p><br/></p><p>The behavior of chromosomes in meiosis creates variation in two important ways. The crossing over and independent assortment. During prophase l homologous chromosomes pair up and exchange smaller sections of DNA on a chromosomes. This shuffles genetic information. Independent assortment is when the homologous chromosomes line up in the metaphase l. This means that the way they drift apart is very unique and will be every single time, mixing up which traits get passed on.</p>]]></description>
