The poet has asked himself about when he lost his childhood, and if it was when he was eleven. He uses the number eleven because he must have lost his innocence back then. He also questions if it was when he couldn't find Hell and Heaven in Geography, as they are not specific places but ideas of society. The poet questions how his childhood went and thinks that he can't go back to it.

The Poet is wondering where he lost his childhood, he asks if it happened at the age of eleven, when he realized the societal responsibilities and lost the curiousity of an innocent virtuous child or was it when he realized that hell and heaven could not be found in geography, Hence, it was just a fragment of his imagination. At the end of the stanza he asks if that was the day he lost his childhood.
