This Edutopia article relays advice for teachers as they work towards becoming leaders. One example is making your language sound professional and inclusive of other perspectives, so that you may have a wide-reaching influence. Another piece of advice establishes the importance of having strong social dynamics with other teachers, developed by being involved in both formal and informal day-to-day interactions. However, the article does point out how teacher's lounges can be a place of conflict at times for teacher leaders. Some teachers can use the lounge to vent or complain, making the atmosphere sensitive and negative at times. It is important that teacher leaders do not join too much into the venting actions, but instead maintain a separation from them. This will help to sustain your own vision and attitude, as well as affect others within a space that is more fruitful for productivity.

Source: https://www.edutopia.org/blog/dos-and-donts-teacher-leadership-jose-vilson
