1. Beethoven 5th, part 1, Otto Klemperer
2. Mostly because of the legacy behind it. Everyone knows Beethoven.
3. Don't Stop Believen' - Journey
4. The reason I chose this song is much like the reasoning for Beethoven being on there. Everyone knows the song, It's a classic. If there is any sort of life out there it would demonstrate another end of the spectrum with Earth's music.

Abby Hamilton. I listened to Johnny B. Goode and I think they must’ve included this song due to its significance in the world of rock and roll. If I were to add a song to this record i would add “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd due to the fact that it holds the record for most popular song in the world since 1958 (according to google).

It was very popular when it was released. It also had political relevance in the song. It also mentions events from the Cold War, Vietnam War, and the Watergate Scandal.

The song I listened to was Panpipes And Drum Song- Peru. In my opinion I think that this song was added to the record to represent the use of humming and using instruments. It could also be that humming requires no language so it could have been included to introduce music to anyone or anything that received the record. If I could add a song it would have to be Party In The USA by Miley Cyrus. This song is a classic and it could also teach about America to its listeners. It is a song that is very popular and seems to be a good mood riser.

4)I chose this song because it has appeared in many polls of the greatest songs in popular music, including a ranking at number 17 on Rolling Stone's 2021 list of the "500 Greatest Songs Of All Time". It also tells a story within the music that the listener could decipher in different ways.

Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry.
I chose Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry because of it's iconic guitar riff, and it's also just an awesome classic song representing United States music prior to the Golden Record being launched.

For my pick i chose Lose Yourself by Eminem.

I chose Lose Yourself by Eminem Because it was the top selling song in the United States in the 2000's. Another Reason i chose this song is because it's a great representation of earlier hiphop/rap. My final reason i chose this song is due to it having great meaning in the song, Eminem accurately expresses in his lyrics the resilience of the human spirit.

I listened to Melancholy Blues-L Armstrong&HisHotSeven
I think that this specific piece of music was chosen because of it's jazz elements, it consisted of many different instruments compiled together to make a beautiful masterpiece. They completely dominated the charts, their numbers high, which led to the further breaking down of the New Orleans jazz style of collective improvisation.
If I could add any song to the Golden Record I would add the song "The Future is a Foreign Land."
Justification; the song by the rock band "Ghost," that released quite early in 2024, "The Future is a Foreign Land," depicts the world as we know it, it speaks about american tragedies, world wars, and bloodshed spread by earth. For example the lyrics "15 years from now, I know it feels remote But picture it somehow in your head
It's 1984
And knocking on your door is the Brownshirt Stasi guard
Boom, you're gone
And in the blood of the Kennedys
The good ones get shot
And in the absence of sympathies
Won't you hear me out?" depicts earth perfectly.
The song released by Tobias Forge also talks about how we can learn to be better people, to save humanity, and our own morality.

A lot of lullabies are very recognizable, and sang everywhere - occasionally with different lyrics. So, many people know what they are – even if they think theyve never heard it before, theyve heard it somewhere.

2 - to show a very different type of genre of music, the song has eerie instruments and vocals that show that the song isn't like some of the other songs on this playlist.

3 - hiss / megan thee stallion

4 - hiss by megan thee stallion was this generation's first introduction to drama in the rap industry. it is rumored that megan directed this song to former queen of rap, nicki minaj, this beef started when megan attacked nicki's marriage and family due to the approved allegations that both nicki's brother and her husband are registered sex offenders. this song has had a significant effect on this generations genre of rap. hiss has launched no. 1 on the hot 100 in early february, with 39.6 million streams and over 99,000 copies sold worldwide within its first week of release.

Because of the use of the instrument panpipes and to show music from other cultures which use them.

I listened to "Johnny B. Goode".
I think this song was chosen to be included because at the time, they wanted to put a variety of songs on the golden record. I think it was a hit during their time so they put all of their famous songs on this record.
I would add "Omg" by USHER (ft. will.i.am).
I chose this song because I personally enjoy listening to it on occasion. It was also one of the many hits during 2010. So I would put it on there, as we also had some hit songs.
