         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Parallelism:</strong> Using the same type of words, and if possible, the same number of words.<br><br>Ideal World/God/Heaven &lt;&gt; Heaven on Earth (human)Hell on Earth (animals) &lt;&gt; non-ideal world/Hell<br>Romance &gt; Tragedy &gt; Satire/Irony &gt; Comedy &gt; Romance ...<br><strong>Conceptual Metaphor</strong>: a metaphor in which one idea is used in therm of another. Ex. Starbucks drink sizes, <br>Knowledge is past, Experience is present , Wisdom is future. Ex. Kissing: you know what kissing is, but each experience is different + unique<br><strong>6° of separation:</strong> you know someone who knows someone who knows someone...if you know the right 6 people you know anyone in the world. How literature influences our other subjects <strong><br>Keys to Dreamland: &gt; </strong>Truth and beauty are conventional. Literature does not copy life. There are times when literature copies life. Stories are not unique, but different enough. Power to understand is important. Compare what you've seen/ read to other things you've seen/read. Literature show us a worlds we don't want <strong><br>Pragmatic:</strong> when the critic compares the text to its effects on the reader/audience, how the reader feels or the reader's life, and time + society.<br><br><br> <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Interested: </strong>The sole usage of knowledge.<br><strong>Disinterested</strong>: Acquiring knowledge for the sake of knowledge.<br><strong>Pathetic Fallacy:</strong> What occurs when nature mirrors human life. The human life cycle for example.<br><strong>Metaphor:</strong> The identification of 2 things as one. "A=B" <br><strong>Conceptual Metaphor: </strong> a metaphor as an idea <br><strong>Parallelism: </strong>the use of successive verbal constructions in poetry or text which correspond in grammatical structure, sound, meter,  and meaning.<br><strong>Deconstruction:</strong> The way of reading, that works as contradiction, gaps, holes, and inconsistency.<br><strong>Unity Heuristic assumption:</strong> Always assuming unity. "Following along with what we can all accept". The usage of the periodic table for example.<br><strong>Aporia:</strong> Gap of contradictions. The display of either A or B.<br><strong>Rhetoric:</strong> Figures of speech.<br><strong>Preci:</strong> A summary or abstract of a text or speech.<br><strong>Comedy: </strong>Story ending in a wedding. "New society"<br><strong>Analogy: </strong>a comparison between 2 things typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.  <br><strong>Violence</strong>: To show us the world we don't want. Allowing us to experience things without anyone getting hurt.<br><strong>Philistines:</strong> Hostile and indifferent to culture and the arts.<br><strong>6° of Separation:  </strong>The theory that we are all separated by 6 (prove 4) people. <br><strong>P.O.E.M -&gt;</strong><br><strong>Pragmatic</strong>: Critic comparing text to reader.<br><strong>Objective: </strong>Critic comparing text to text.<br><strong>Expressive:</strong> Critic comparing text to author.<br><strong>Mimetic: </strong>Critic comparing text to reality.</div>]]></description>
