Midnight sun is a 2018 American romantic drama film directed by Scott Speer written by Eric Kirsten.
Sheltered since early childhood, Katie Price lives with a life-threatening sensitivity to sunlight caused by the rare genetic condition, xeroderma pigmentosum. During the day, she is housebound, having only her father, Jack and her best friend, Morgan, to keep her company. Katie comes out of the house every night, when the sun is not present.
One night, she is noticed and asked out by her longtime crush, Charlie, while playing guitar at the train station. Katie leaves suddenly, and forgets her notebook, which Charlie keeps. He returns the next day, and gives it to Katie when she shows up to retrieve it. He explains to her how he got his injury that prevented him from getting a scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley before kissing her on one of the boats.
However, Katie has yet to tell Charlie about her condition, even though her father warned her to do so. Charlie takes Katie out for a night in Seattle, where they go to a live show, and Charlie makes Katie play one of her songs on one of the streets of the city. Charlie mentions watching the sunrise and Katie goes out of her mind, running home in fear. Charlie takes her and brings her there quickly, but she does not make it on time, and is exposed to sunlight for a couple of seconds. Katie runs inside, while Morgan and Jack come home shortly thereafter. Charlie is still confused and Morgan explains that Katie has this disease. Once the doctors do some tests, the doctor comes to the conclusion that Katie's brain is contracting, and it's only a matter of time before she dies.
Katie begins to feel contractions on her finger, which prevent her from playing the guitar. He also ignores Charlie's messages that he does not want to hurt him, but he does not care about his medical condition. The guy brings Katie out one night and surprises her by booking a recording session, where she sings a song she wrote for her. Shortly thereafter, Charlie remembers having to visit the boat for the last time, which has been hired to take care of the entire summer. Katie, fearing she will die, finally remembers when he told her he wanted to be able to sail together, despite the day. Katie navigates with Charlie, feels the light of the sun and spends his last moments with him, dying shortly thereafter.

On a small island, the party for the coronation of Princess Rosalinda Maria Montoya Fiore is approaching, but during the holidays, she is threatened by an evil dictator who wants to take her place as ruler. An agency that watches over all the princesses of the world has entrusted the princess to an agent named Mason, who will have to protect her in her home. Mason also has a daughter, Carter, who will share her habits with the princess, although initially the two will struggle to tolerate.
Rosalinda, later renamed Rosie, will be forced to change clothing and hair to appear less regal, being presented as Carter's new cousin. Rosie will have to face all the problems of a normal girl, from school to work, facing even the most popular girls in school, ready to put her in a bad light. To worsen the situation there is the prom of the year: all the girls are attracted by the title of queen, they are named Carter and the most popular girl of the school, who is jealous of Carter and wants to win absolutely.
While Carter helps Rosie to behave like a normal girl, Rosie reciprocates helping Carter to behave and feel like a princess, to win the title of queen, so the two become great friends. They buy perfect dresses for the dance, but some girls ruin these dresses. Rosie reads in a magazine that her mother has been arrested and wants to return to her country. Carter's father tries to warn her that this was a trap to lure her to the island, but Rosie does not listen to her. So Carter persuades her to stay until the ball, then calls Rosie's court tailor, to send him new clothes, and to ambush the dictator. The tailor reports the dictator of the phone call, saying that during the ball the princess would wear a blue dress and a mask. So the dictator leaves to go to the dance too, and kidnaps the girl described by the tailor, who spontaneously climbs on the helicopter with the villain. There is Carter's father with some of his colleagues from the Protection Princess Program. The girl takes off her mask, but under it there is no Rosie, but Carter. The dictator is arrested and Carter is named Queen.
Some time later, Rosie returns to the island accompanied by Carter and is crowned princess.

Two unrelated young girls who happen to look identical meet by chance. Amanda Lemmon is an orphan, and she is about to be adopted by the Butkises, a family known to "collect" kids. She actually wants her child-loving social worker, Diane Barrows, to adopt her instead. Diane would like to do so, but authorities will not let her because of her low salary and unmarried status. Alyssa Callaway is coming home from her school piano recital competition, only to find that her wealthy father, Roger is about to marry Clarice Kensington , an overbearing self-centered gold-digger socialite who plans to send Alyssa off to boarding school in Tibet after marrying Roger.
The identical strangers long for the other's life and decide to switch places. While Amanda enjoys Alyssa's wealthy lifestyle and Alyssa gets to experience being a kid at summer camp, the two get to know the other's parental figure and discover that Roger and Diane would be perfect for each other. Desperate to set them up, the girls arrange many "chance" meetings between Diane and Roger, hoping that they fall in love. Clarice manipulates Roger into moving the wedding up from the next month to the next day. Soon after, Alyssa, while posing as Amanda, ends up being adopted by the Butkises without Diane's knowledge, and is taken away by child services. Alyssa discovers the only reason the Butkises had adopted so many kids was to put them to work in their salvage yard. Roughly two hours before the wedding, Amanda, who poses as Alyssa, proves to the family butler, Vincenzo, that she is not Alyssa. He contacts Diane and summons to have the real Alyssa picked up from the Butkises' salvage yard. In the meantime, Vincenzo and Amanda work to stall the wedding.
