-This law was passed in 1913

-I think this was successful because it gave average citizens more influence in the senate

-Corruption served the interests of dishonest politicians and those who bribed them, the 17th amendment was made to slow down and try to stop corruption in politics/politicians. If the 17th amendment weren't to happen then all/most of America would of been corrupt and politicians would be in control of everything

This picture represents the 17th amendment because they got to pick for senator by popular vote and not told who they had to vote for so every one had more chances.

Connection to Today

-The 17th amendment effects us today because if it wasn't made then America would have gone corrupt and we would of had a unjust and corrupt government.

-The presidential election today is somewhat connected to the 17th amendment because for presidents we need a direct vote and the president who wins, wins by popular vote.
