This political cartoon is titled "Terms of Peace," and depicts Uncle Sam aggressively presenting a treaty to a man who looks like he is supposed to represent Spain. This depicts Uncle Sam, and therefore the US, as a very strong sort of "hero," saving the Spanish colonies as Spain appears to cower in fear of America's power and force.

This political cartoon shows Uncle Sam, representing the US, looking at a menu and stroking his beard, contemplating what to order. He says "Well, I hardly know which to take first!" The items on the menu are the different Spanish colonies that we gained after the War. This glosses over struggles of the war and the pain and suffering that these colonies went through. It also implies these colonies were ours for the taking, the US just had to simply choose what we wanted and it was ours.

This cartoon depicts a young Uncle Sam and his process into growing into an old and successful man. As the United States gains more land, Uncle Sam grows from a small child to a large man, representing the prosperity and success of the US. In his arms he hold a battleship, representing the large Navy that the US had acquired by the end of the 19th century. He also is smoking a cigar, representing class, sophistication, and wealth. The 1899 Uncle Sam has the arms of the other successful European countries reaching out to him, representing the place that the U.S. had finally taken on the world stage.
