         <title>Socialization- Internalizing the norms and ideologies of society</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Creates morals within a society based on the core values of the people in question.<br>2. Experiences at a young age will greatly effect the socialization process.<br>3. During Primary Socialization, children are taught by parental figures the societies' values.<br>4. Anticipatory socialization is when an individual rehearses attitudes to fit in with a group or position they must fill.<br>5. Re-socialization is when someone with existing morals must change them drastically to fit in with society. <br>6. Group socialization is when a peer group becomes the moral guidance for morals and values.<br>7. Socialization can also lead to oppression of minorities through wrongful teaching.</div>]]></description>

Ethnic groups can use cultural works to solidify their place in a society.<br>4. Multiculturalism is the idea that many different beliefs can co-exist in a society.<br>5. Culture can be accelerated by commerce, media, or a rapid growth in population.<br>6. Social shifts can be a direct result of a culture impacting a population group in a society.<br>7. Symbols in culture become iconic because of the heavy exposure through media and products.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Early Sociology- Emerged out of the idea of  true enlightenment.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Emerged as a mix between science in philosophy in the 19th century.<br>2. The earliest form of social research came from surveys which would ask more personal questions about people.<br>3. Henri de saint-Simon was a sociologist who claimed that war and strife would end if countries focused on their own citizens first.<br>4. Karl Marx was an outspoken founder of sociology who pulled the curtain back on issues such as workers rights and abusive establishments.<br>5. The first department of Sociology in higher education was at the University of Bordeaux in 1895<br>6. There was a major shift from the positivism to anti positivism during the rise of sociology into a practice. <br>7. Early sociologists led the way for the social research methods used today.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>How they connect-</strong><br>All of the topics I chose greatly affect the Sociological makings of a society. In early sociology we got the foundations to recognize both the Culture and Socialization process, and Socialization is directly affected by the culture and norms of a societies people.<br><br><strong>How they apply-</strong><br>By knowing about early sociology I could recognized patterns or shifts in my own society by making observations in the same way the scholars of the past did.<br>I am surrounded by my culture, and the culture decides who I am as a person.<br>Socialization directly affects me through my work, peer groups, media, and family.<br><br><strong>Current events-</strong><br>The current state of the nation is an example of two drastically different cultures of America fighting politically to maintain dominance.<br><br>In our school every day friends expose each other to media or ideals that can shape someone's perception of the world.</div>]]></description>
