         <description><![CDATA[<p>Whenever Watergate came out it really hurt Nixon and his reputation, there was a recording that showed he knew and possibly authorized the bugging of democratic offices. He felt it was better to resign than get impeached, but Ford told Congress not to press legal action on Nixon and pardon him. Ford said that a long hard trial would only worsen America and he wanted to put the scandal behind them and move on for the better of the country.</p>]]></description>
