What is CIM

This summary of CIM highlights that the model aims to visualize the complexity of an innovation system to show which actors are important for improving the performance of an innovation system. CIM is a process model that participants in a system can use to build an innovation system and keep it running. An important element of CIM is the principle of cyclic interaction. By adding a feedback path, the model of a dynamic system -- often called an institution -- is represented by an interconnected loop, so that the process becomes a loop. It is also a source of inspiration for human creativity and a necessary condition for sustainable development. CIM enables companies to adapt quickly to unforeseen developments. Circular architectures can also learn from mistakes, which is a very important feature of innovation. Figure 1 illustrates the rationale (Van Der Duin, Ortt & Kok, 2007).

Create technical capabilities. HUAWEI has 60,000 employees involved in product development. This is how knowledge is turned into money. Strategic knowledge is translated into HUAWEI technologies and products, making HUAWEI continuously competitive in the market. Huawei has 20,000 people involved in basic science research. This is how "money into knowledge" drives HUAWEI breakthroughs in future-oriented technology and basic science.
Huawei makes intensive investments in multiple paths and routes. This means investing a lot of people and money and encouraging internal competition to ensure that strategic opportunities are not missed. Huawei is well aware that innovation without basic theory is not sustainable and will not succeed. The premise of innovation in basic theory is long-term and significant investment in basic research("How Lighthouses of Scientific Exploration Are Built - Huawei events", 2019).

If a company focuses on short-term returns and short-term investment returns, it is unlikely to invest in basic research. The government continued to insist on its importance, require a more formal system transformation of the market system need to be strong support, there is no doubt that enterprises need to strengthen market capacity in the process of institutionalization.

Transition. Relatively undervalued is, when the rules of the game changes, companies must develop and cultivate the ability to use government relations during the transition period. Fundamental incompatibility lies in the lack of separation of markets affects the specific division and the government, enterprises are lack of a clear guidance to seek the best way in the market or government management under the condition of these two areas (Li, Peng & Macaulay, 2013).

History shows that monopoly control is temporary. The structural realities of each industry have changed and will continue to change, as blackberry's decline from its dominant position shows. The biggest mistake successful companies make is complacency. It is not enough for huawei to continue with research and development. As a cautionary tale, nokia spent 10 times more on research and development than apple did between 2004 and 2007. But nokia has steadfastly built products to meet demand in its current key areas while ignoring the few consumers who have shown great interest in the future of touch screens. Similarly, huawei must constantly seek to meet and create future consumer demand rather than existing consumer demand
