As my classmates and I boarded the bus, my hands were shaking like a milkshake, and I was sweating nervously.

a the first learning journey of P4! Today ,we are going to the National Gallery Of Singapore. The basket ball court is buzzing with excitement. When I boarded the bus, I took my seat. I was seated with my friend, Ethan, we were counting the number of bird

The second painting was The Family Portrait by Georgette Chen. The family in the painting belonged to Georgette Chen's friend. She used both Chinese and Western art styles in this painting, mixing them together to show who she was and where she came from. Through this artwork, I learnt how important family is in Singapore’s culture.

Once inside the National Gallery, everyone was thrilled to see the breathtaking paintings and sculptures. I was looking forward to this trip for a long time.

I learnt that the painting honors workers who helped built Singapore, such as construction workers. I also learnt to to appreciate and respect different people in our community.

Next, we saw the famliy potrait by Georgette Chen. She used both Chinese and Western art styles in this painting, mixing them together to show who she was and where she came from. Through the painring, I learnt how important family is in Singapore’s culture. We then moved on to the second part of the tour. I felt curious on what we were going to do next.

Inside the gallery, we were immediately captivated by the incredible artworks. Among them, Life of a Miao and Longhouse by Shui Tit Sing stood out the most. The vibrant colors and intricate details in his pieces left us in awe. We stood mesmerized, admiring the depth and beauty of each artwork. It was an unforgettable experience that deepened our appreciation for art and culture.

I saw The Longhouse by Shui Tit Sing and learned about how people lived in the past and how resilient they were. Then, I saw The Net. The tour guide explained that it was made using paper dye sculpture and might represent the Singapore River in the past. It was created by Teo Eng Seng.

After looking at all these works of art, I felt amazed.

Shui Tit Sing. I learnt a lot about the history and significance of this structure.

After a few hours, Ms. Jennie left, but I did not realise it at first because we were busy enjoying our snacks before starting the second tour. I was surprised that we were allowed to have snacks in the gallery! After our break, we headed to a cold room, eager to continue our exploration.

We were talking the sculptures trail. First, we looked at Life Of

Miao. "The person who made this is Shi Tat Sing." said our museum guide. "The next one is The Long House." She said.

Next was The Net, it was made by Teo Eng Seng.

Madam Anisa handed each of us a piece of paper. "Your task is to find what is written on the paper," she instructed. "You may work in pairs or groups."

I paired up with Avyan and read our task aloud. "The Net," I said.

"Yeah, I know where that is!" Avyan replied excitedly.

We searched together and soon found it. "Look! The weapons look like the ones the Avengers use!" Avyan exclaimed.

We also tried our hand at Chinese calligraphy, using a black brush and special red paper. Carefully, we practiced each stroke, learning the art of writing beautifully formed characters. It was a unique experience that deepened my appreciation for traditional Chinese culture and the precision required in calligraphy.

Lastly, I tried the paintbrush activity, but there were no brushes left. Fortunately, our teacher asked for more, and we all got to participate. It was so much fun! By the end of the day, I hoped to do it all again.

Once we were ready, we began our guided tour. I was in Group 1, and our tour guide, Ms. Jennie, introduced us to several sculptures. One of them was Indian Worker by Tay Boon Sin. Through this artwork, I learned the importance of respecting different religions and how artists use oil on canvas.

The second sculpture was a family portrait. I noticed that each family member was engaged in different activities, yet they remained together. The mother stood out, wearing a traditional Chinese costume. I was truly captivated by the details and meaning behind the sculpture.

At KCAE, we discovered a UV light activity, but the staff informed us that it only worked on weekends. Although we could not try it, we still explored many fascinating activities. I learnt so much about KCAE and its unique features, like the special painting wall where we could create art in an interactive way. It was an exciting and memorable experience!

I also saw some weapons displayed in a box, but they were not real—they were made from recycled materials. This taught me an important lesson that we should not waste things because they can be reused to create something meaningful.

Lastly, I saw the Five Nails sculpture. At first, I did not understand why it was called that, but through the self-guided tour, I learned more about its meaning. Overall, it was a great experience, and I gained a new appreciation for art and creativity.

For the past three weeks, we had been talking about this learning journey, eagerly counting down the days. My friends, teachers, and I were all thrilled at the thought of exploring the museum. Although we did not know exactly what we would see, the anticipation made the experience even more exciting.

Finally, I then saw a sculpture called The Net. The fishing net reminded me of the fishing communities in Singapore’s past. The sculpture is not just about the dirty river; it also makes us think about how development and modernization have affected Singapore’s people, environment, and traditions.

The visit was both educational and enjoyable, and we were eager to see what else the gallery had to offer.

to the cabinet which is where we kept our water bottles(in event2) and took our bottles back. We went into KCAE(Kepple Center Of Art Education).The first activity was 3D pen/ coloring. I couldn't try the 3D pen because it was all occupied.

The second activity was the 'explorer' it was the most surprising thing I've seen, we used special torches to 'draw' on

a special wall. The last activity was the paint brush activity we

used 'magic' paint brushes to do activities.

I was over the moon after the trip, still thinking about the incredible sculptures and paintings we had explored. The stories behind each artwork fascinated me, and I felt inspired to look at art in a new way. I hope to visit the gallery again someday to discover even more amazing pieces!

We also saw a portrait of a family painted by Georgette Chen. I learnt that artists can use shades, light, and oil to make painting come alive. After that, Miss Jennie told us that we could now explore the gallery with our form teachers and classmates. I was eager and curious to see more artworks and participate in the interactive activities.

Next, I came across a very interesting game. It was a wall with wooden sticks on it, and below it was a box filled with different shapes and sizes. One of the shapes was a big triangle, while another was a small square. Just as I was playing, I noticed a fortress made entirely out of pillows! My friends and I could not resist so we decided to crash into it and knock it down.

After that experience, I realized that everything around us could be a form of art.

Overall, I learnt that sometimes, trash can be turned into treasure.

Despite our reluctance to go, we left with hearts full of inspiration and joy. I realized that art is not just about beautiful drawings or sculptures; it has the power to tell stories, evoke emotions, and even change perspectives.

As I boarded the bus, I smiled to myself, knowing that art is not just found in museums, it is all around us, waiting to be seen.

We also saw The Net, a fascinating sculpture that highlighted the impact of development and modernization on Singapore’s people, environment, and traditions. It served as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving our heritage and keeping our environment clean for future generations.

Next, we were supposed to use a 3D pen, but unfortunately, we ran out of time. However, our teacher encouraged us to return with our families to try it next time.

After that, we explored an interactive painting area, where we used a brush to touch the screen. Whatever we painted appeared on a large digital display, making it a fun and immersive experience.

We also learned the art of Chinese calligraphy, practicing each stroke carefully. It was a fascinating experience that deepened our appreciation for traditional writing techniques.

Next, we saw The Net, a structure made from recycled materials. At first glance, I thought it resembled a cluster of beehives, but I later learned that it symbolized the impact of waste on our environment.

The last exhibit we explored featured World War II artifacts, including old weapons and military helmets. Seeing these historical items gave me a glimpse into the past and the struggles faced during wartime.

I learnt that artists use shading and oil on canvas to create detailed and beautiful paintings. From the guided tour, I felt very happy because I enjoyed looking at the paintings. I also learned to appreciate and respect the effort artists put into their artwork.

From this experience, I learnt the importance of looking closely at art and understanding its meaning. I also realised that we should be careful around sculptures and appreciate the effort that artists put into their work.

Our tour guide first showed us the Longhouse, and it was amazing to see how everyone inside was working together. I learnt that the people in the Longhouse collaborated to solve problems as a community, making things better through teamwork.

When I boarded the bus, I found my seat next to my friend, Ethan. To pass the time, we started counting the number of bird nest ferns along the way. "190, 191, 192, 193... 198, 199, 200!" We cheered as we reached the milestone, eager for the adventure ahead.

As we continued exploring, we discovered a special wall that caught our attention.

I also felt like I was inside someone’s stomach because the whole place was red, like blood. It was an exciting experience!

After, that we went on a self guided tour. We went to look at sepultures. The sepultures were The Net,The long house 🏠and The five 5️⃣ nails 💅 . The long house was about people living together and helping each other. The net was about us fishing 🎣 in the past. The five nails was about the story of journeys to the west. The story was the monkey 🐒 boasts his is the best and the god said if you past my hand🤚 you will become the king 👑.

After that, we went to another room where we could play. There were magnetic blocks that could stick together, and my classmate and I built a tower with them. Then, I tried the UV flashlight that allowed us to draw on the wall. I attempted to draw my hamster, but I wasn’t very good at it!

We also got to try Chinese calligraphy. It was a bit tricky at first, but with practice, it became easier. It was really fun to use the brush and see all the beautiful paintings. I cannot wait to try it again next time!

From this, I learned about the importance of recycling and how waste can be transformed into artwork.

Finally, we all saw a another sculpture that sculpture was called The Net I find it very amazing. It reminded me about the fishing net and it also make us think about how developers have affected Singapore’s people in the past
