Religion had the most influence on the Mesopotamian society. Religion was the most important because the Mesopotamian's blamed the gods for everything good and bad that happened. The gods were the answers to life's purpose and meaning.

They might say that food supply is the most important because if you don't have food you can't survive. But religion is a key part in Mesopotamia because if you don't have religion it will be chaos.
