Personal definition of assessment: a procedure for making inferences. I will ask you to do something, which I will observe to then make an inference based on that (there is no valid assessment, there is only valid interpretations).

as a teacher, you need to know what the your kids understand. An example of this could be introducing your kids to a show what you know. You also need to continue moving forward with the information you gain from your students.

Personal definition of assessment: in elementary, the kids are assessed constantly. It's from the moment they walk into the door. How ready are they to learn this? How are they feeling today? Where are they at? There are so many times you will be observing, but one of her favorites is "show me what you know" on the whiteboard.

Personal definition of assessment: as a special ed teacher, you look at assessment a bit different than a classroom teacher. A few examples would be including assessments that are pure observation on how students are preforming in the classroom, or what kids are doing. Other examples include giving the students achievement tests, curriculum based measures or social skill checklists.

Personal definition of assessment: assessment can be in any time of your life. It's when you have a goal/ objective that you want to meet and you have to assess if you've been able to complete it (this could be for both formative or summative).

I noticed how whenever they were talking, it was personal. Their advice had meaning.

2. What are the strategies that you heard most often?

The strategies that I heard most often is listen to your students. Observe what they need and hear what they say.

4. Which Mentor did you connect with? Explain why!

I connected with Kelly Tines the most because she stated how assessment is based upon goals. I am the type of person who loves to set goals, and tries to aim for them.

5. What surprised you about any of the Mentors?

The thing that surprised me the most was each mentor had a different definition of assessment. In other words, they were basing it more off of their experiences.

7. What are one or two questions you would like to pose to a Mentor Educator?

Everyone always says the first year of teaching is the roughest, is there any advice/insight you could give on that?

Personal definition of assessment: assessment is necessary. It is a tool that'll help determine what your students know and what they're ready to learn next. For the teacher, it can help guide the teacher to know what is the next step.
