August Pullman 1

August Pullman is the best male literary lead character because he did not let the bullies get to him, he is loyal to his friends, and he is courageous.

August did not let the bullies get to him even though no matter what people said to August and what they did to him he was not worried about being himself. He still continued to do good in school and ever since the bullies keep bullying him, he still won the science fair and worked hard and continued to tell his parents what was on his mind. He kept being normal.

August is loyal to his friends even when the seventh grade bullies pushed his friend Jack and beat him up so August stood up for himself and Jack. He tried to defend Jack and himself from the bully even though he knew the bully was much bigger and taller than him. He did not care no matter what, he stood up for Jack then even when Jack betrayed him and was saying mean stuff behind his back. When Jack apologized August accepted it and was still nice to him and friendly to him and when Jack was having trouble on the test August let Jack copy a few questions. He was willing to help Jack no matter the consequences.

August is courageous when he was given an award he was proud and he was not afraid of going up on to that stage and accepting that award even though he looks different. He was fearless and that takes a lot of courage to go up onto the stage and take that award. Even when his dog died he was sad but then he overcame that obstacle. He was still sad but kept on going and moving forward and on the first day of school he took off his helmet that covered his face and walked into school even though he looked different from everyone and he pulled through it.

August Pullman has everything it takes, he is courageous and he is loyal to Jack no matter the consequences. Even when he knew he was going to get into trouble he still helped Jack. If he is brave enough to go onto stage, and stand up for his friends. Then nothing can bring August Pullman down.

Nagaina is the best female literary lead because she is very powerful, she doesn’t hesitate, and she is very protective of Nag and her eggs. She powerful. She does it all herself and doesn’t need help. She doesn’t hesitate. She isn’t one to just sit around and watch, she takes action without thinking twice. She is very protectful. She doesn’t just let the threat get close to her eggs or herself, she defends herself. Once again, Nagaina should win the best female literary lead because she is very powerful, she doesn’t hesitate, and she is very protective of Nag and her eggs. I know there are other characters up for this award, but Nagiana should win. She may be evil, but aren’t we all when we want something?

Cherry Valance is the best female literary lead character because she changes Ponyboy’s view of the Socs and tells him Greasers and Socs aren’t very different from each other, she tells Ponyboy that even though Socs and Greasers act different from each other they both have problems going on and she tells him “things are rough all over, Cherry is a good friend to Ponyboy by opening up to him and hanging out with him and being nice to him.

Cherry Valance changed Ponyboy’s view of the Socs and told him that them Greasers aren’t very different from Socs.

Ponyboy looked at the Socs badly and thought that both Greasers and Socs are very different.

Crash is obviously the best novel because the theme goes deeper than the other novels, the writer has a better purpose and the characters have more significant relationships. Most significantly, the theme goes deeper than the other novels. The theme of bullying is not okay, is a lifelong theme that would be very important to learn in schools unlike the other themes. Furthermore, the writer’s purpose is very important. Bullying is a worldwide issue and to take a stand against it is very important. This is unlike other controversies in the other novels. Least importantly, the characters have very important relationships. The relationship between Crash and Penn improves through the entire novel ending up where Crash gives Penn a spot on the track team and finds a similarity with their grandpas. It is an important friendship that makes the book better than the rest. Crash is the best novel because the theme goes deeper than the other novels themes, the writer has a better purpose and the characters have more important relationships. The other nominees have good novels and good paragraphs but Crash is the best because of the deep value of the novel.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is the best choice for Male Literary Lead. The other choices are good but Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is the best choice to receive an award for male literary lead. He should receive this award because he is brave and curious, recognizes danger fast, and he is caring and protects his family. “It is the hardest thing in the world to frighten a mongoose, because he is eaten up from head to tail with curiosity” ( Kipling,124). This means Rikki-Tikki isn’t afraid of much and is very brave and curious. This gets him into trouble but because of his lack of being scared, he is able to face these dangers head on without fear. “Rikki-Tikki tingled all over with rage and hatred at this, and then Nag’s head came through the sluice, and his five feet of cold, body followed it…’It must be the head,’ he said at last: ‘the head above the hood. And when I am once there, I must not let go’” (129). Less important, He is quick to realize the dangers that his family and friends are faced with and he is quick to make his plan to stop those dangers right in their tracks. ‘“ I have settled it all’; and then Teddy’s mother picked him up from the dust and hugged him, crying that he had saved Teddy from death, and Teddy’s father said that he was a providence, and Teddy looked on with big scared eyes” (128).Most importantly, Rikki-Tikki is protective of his family members, and he will put his own life at risk to keep them out of harm’s way, no matter what the danger is, he will protect them. In conclusion, Rikki-Tikki- Tavi should win the award for the best Male Literary Lead because he is brave, curious, and hard to scare, he realizes the dangers fast before they get out of hand, and he is protective of his family and cares for them by protecting them from danger. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi may have other tough opponents for male literary lead but Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is truly the best choice. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi truly stands out for his actions, not only is he a hero, saviour for his family, and a great choice for Male Literary Lead, but he is a role model for not only males but for everybody.

Johnny cade is the best male literary lead because he is a powerful, loyal, and a dynamic character. Johnny had a hard life at home but still goes on. Johnny has been beaten and yelled at countless times and still lives a normal life outside of the house. Also, Johnny is very loyal to his friends. In the article, the only reason that he did not run away from his house is because of his friends and his Greaser gang. Lastly, Johnny is a dynamic character. Johnny was a very nervous at the start of the book and did not have a lot of say in anything. Towards the end of the book his leadership comes out and he is a very capable person. Indeed Johnny cade is the best male literary lead because he is a powerful, loyal, and a dynamic character. There are a lot of other great nominees but Johnny is the best because he has been through alot of beating and he is still very strong human.

Lily is the best female Literary Citizen character because Lily does not care about the honor that comes with a job and also in The Giver Lily described all the different type of ceremonies and Lily is caring and she cares for other people like Gabe. First of all, Lily does not care about the honor that comes with the job she just cares about what she is interested in.A Lot of people care about the honor of the job and they would not want to get a job that has barely any honor at all like birth mother has barely any honor and lily want the job but her mom says that it is not a good job.Otherwords, In The Giver Lily described all the different type of ceremonies. she gives you the description of the ceremonies and that is useful to the reader because you have information on what is going on in the story so you won't be confused.Lily is caring and she cares for other people like Gabe.Last of all, If you care for people that means you have a heart so Lily has a heart like jonas does since they care for others, Lilly cares for Gabe and you can say she loves lily but they do not use the word love.Lily is the best supporting charater in the story becouse she is careing and tells you all about the ceremonys and stuff telling what they are and what happens.

Best Novel-The Giver

The novel The Giver is the best book. It shows us that we should embrace our differences, it has unique relationships, and realize how lucky we are to make choices. Most importantly, this story shows us that we should embrace our differences instead of trying to hide them. Most people try to hide their differences because they are embarrassed or maybe they just don’t want to be different. But our differences is what makes us our own person. Without our differences everything would be boring and much like Jonas’ community; sameness. Also, the relationships in this book between some characters like Jonas, and The Giver, are unique from characters in other books. The relationship between The Giver and Jonas is special because it is like no other. Jonas and The Giver are the only ones in the community to have memories. This is important because they go through emotions like, sadness, pain, happiness and more, with each other when they didn’t have anyone else. Lastly, this novel proves that we are lucky we are able to make our own choices, and not take things for granted. Some people can’t make their own choices, and are forced to do things everyday whether they want to or not. Sometimes we take how lucky we are for granted, to have the freedom that we do.This story shows us that we should embrace our differences. Now, as you know, there are other choices for Best Novel. But, the novel The Giver is by far the best because it teaches you many valued things.

Wonder

The novel Wonder, by R.J Palacio, is the best and greatest novel, and deserves to win the Bahny awards. The Novel Wonder, is about a boy, August, who starts to find his voice in a new school who is not to fond of his conditions and health problems he has that he has. But, as the story goes on, people realize how cool August, the main character, really is. The book Wonder is the best book because it has many inspiring characters that keep the story fresh and interesting, it makes people aware, that in life, some people are different, but that it is acceptable in this society, and teaches and inspires people to be brave. To begin, this book has many inspiring characters that are developed and interesting. A book without deep, developed, and carefully thought out characters is a book that is dull, lifeless, and a novel none would care to read and enjoy. However, Wonder is not like what has been described. It has many characters with deep backstories, and, even better, it has characters that develop over the story that are dynamic and interesting to pay attention to. Another reason Wonder deserves to win is because this novel makes people aware of how, in their lives, they meet people that are different from them. This novel promotes how diversity is a good thing, and when a novel promotes a positive message, it helps other people be positive and accept other people and, in this book’s case, their differences. This is another reason why Wonder is the best novel; It promotes positive ideas and helps people with being nice to different people. But the most significant reason Wonder deserves to win is because it teaches and inspires bravery to people who read this book. Some people need help with their self-esteem and speaking up for themselves. This book teaches that, to get anywhere in life, you need to be brave, and one of the most likely reasons that R.J Palacio wrote this book is to inspire people to be brave and, even when things don't go your way, just keep on fighting for what you want in life. This book can, and probably will, inspire shy people, to be brave. To recap, The Novel Wonder deserves to win the Bahny award for best novel because it has deep, developed characters that keep everything interesting, it promotes how diversity is a good thing, and it teaches people to be brave and stand up for themselves. There are many other books and novels in this category, but Wonder is the best, most unique, and overall best book in this category, and this is why Wonder deserves to win the Bahny awards the most.

Jack Will #1

Jack Will is the best male literary citizen because he is a good friend, Jack is strong, and he has a golden heart. Palacio writes, “I walked to classes with Jack, too. I know he noticed kids staring at me, but he pretended not to notice.” Jack Will is a good friend to Auggie Pullman because he is hanging out with him when the other students were judging him. In addition, Jack is not judging Auggie by the way his face looks like all the other students are, he prefers to see Auggie for his personality not looks. More importantly, Julian is calling Auggie a freak. Jack is not giving in to the peer pressure to call Auggie a freak like all his old friends do. Also, Jack points out to Julian that he is being rude and that he should try to get to know Auggie by his personality, and not judge him by his appearance. Jack Will is a strong character because he is standing up for Auggie. But also, Jack has the guts to tell Julian off and to get to know Auggie before he is going to call him names. (Julian talking about how Jack Will punched him for calling Auggie a freak.) Most important Palacio states, “Okay, okay. I know it's not nice to call him “The Freak,”… it's only a joke, everyone! Don't take me so seriously! I'm not being mean. I'm just being funny…. I didn't see it coming at all!... All the sudden he just whacked me in the mouth for no reason! I was like Owwwww! You crazy jerkface! You punched me? You actually punched me?” (29 Palacio). Jack punched Julian because he was making fun of Auggie by calling him a freak. As well as, Jack risked getting expelled for this action, therefore, he has a golden heart and he cares about Auggie. Clearly, Jack Will is the best male literary citizen because Jack is a good friend, he is strong, and he has a golden heart. There are many other amazing characters up for the award of best male literary citizen, but Jack Will is the best because he is a good friend to Auggie, he is strong, lastly, Jack Will has a golden heart and he can stand up to bullies even if they are his old friends.

Nagiana is the best female literary lead because she is an extremely smart woman,a powerful woman and the best there is at making genius plans. Nagiana is an extremely smart female in many ways. Nagiana is smart because the is the one who devised the plan to kill Rikki Tikki and Teddy. She is also very smart because she wanted to rule the garden in her own way and not everyone have their own rules.

Another example is that Nagaina is an extremely powerful woman. Nagaina isn’t like other woman such as Cherry Valance, Mrs Luella Bates and Olivia Pullman, Nagaina is a powerful woman with plans to rule people with order and be Queen of the garden. The other woman all want to teach people lessons but Nagaina is about order and power. Nagaina is an important role in this novel for many reasons. She is an important character because she is the one that causes chaos and fear to all in the garden. She is the one that wants to kill Teddy and his whole family along with her rival Rikki-Tikki the menace that killed her husband. As you can see Nagiana is a female leader,a smart mind and a strong and powerful women. It is obvious that Nagiana the most powerful and superior women then all.

She is always pointing out weird things that she sees that could be connected to the power outage. She also puts stuff out there then more and more. She is handing them out like candy on halloween. She also like stands up for herself like she doesn’t let anybody think that she is doing it she is making everybody else scapegoats. Also she never lets anybody think that she is behind all of it. Mostly because she is too busy trying pick apart the most weirdest thing everyone does Then she puts that out there so everyone else thinks more about those weird things and finds a way to connect it to the power outage. She always is innocent she never does anything wrong. Woman One never gets accused of doing anything wrong. She like never gets anything pointed out that is weird that might connect her to the power outage. Finally, out of all of the nominees for the female literary citizen award I think Woman One, from The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, should win because she always puts her two sense in and drives the conflict, also she stands up for herself, and finally she is innocent she has never done anything wrong or weird.

Jack will fights Julian the bully to stand up for Auggie because he was making fun of Auggie and called him names. Plus, Jack Will accepts auggie the way he is even with all of his problems. Jack Will still hangs out with Auggie even after their fight, and none of the other kids would talk to Auggie but Jack Will. When Jack Will first meet Auggie Pullman, Julian was already picking on him and Jack told him to stop. Last but not least,Jack never gave up on Auggie. Even when Auggie didn't want to be friends with Jack, Jack kept trying to be friends with Auggie even though he didn't want to be his friend. Jonas loves him, Rosemary Loves him and He loves both of them. The Giver loves and is lovable. The Giver always tells Jonas the truth even when it is difficult and he can lie if he so desired. He is truthful even when it hurts. Even though he wanted to escape the community he stayed back to help them when the memories kicked in. He will do anything he can for the greater good. The paragraph shows that The Giver is loved and that he loves, that he is very truthful, and he will do everything he can for the greater good. Lily describes the age ceremonies. It helps the reader understand how people dress at each age all the way to the age of twelve. (For example, younger kids wear bows in their hair/tunics for older kids.) Also, Lily shows what the routines are like for a child in the community. She shows in a better way how the family operates at night and morning.(She explains how everyone goes to bed at certain times/The part when the mom and dad tell Lily that it’s time to get ready for bedtime.) Without Lily in the book they would not have said that. Alongside that, she shows how important bikes are in the community. She talks about how her and her other friends are excited to get a bike and some of the kids secretly train on how to ride the bike including Lily with Jonas. Still acknowledging that other characters supported the storyline of other books, Lily is the best supporting character because she shows the reader small details that piece together the community and how it works/acts.

The novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is the most exceptional novel because it has many themes, plot twists, and it is different than most other novels. In The Outsiders, there are many outstanding life lessons and themes, such as, “It’s rough all over” and “We all see the same sunset” These make the book the best because these life lessons associate with the book and it can associates with reality, because we all have rough patches in life. Next, there are many plot twists in the book. This adds to how great the novel is because plot twists usually make the book more exciting and they make the book what it is. Most importantly, The Outsiders is different than most novels. The Outsiders is different than most novels because most books have one or two people who comes up the most as the main character or a narrator, who has no effect in the book, talk about a main character, but in The Outsiders, the person who talks the most and who's name comes up in the book the most (Ponyboy Curtis) is not the lead character. The lead character in the book is Johnny Cade. To conclude, The Outsiders in the best novel because, there are many relatable themes such as, “we all see the same sunset” and “it’s rough all over.” Also, there are lots of exciting plot twists, and the novel is very different than most novels. Although there are many other superior books up for Best Novel, The Outsiders is the best because it talks about the importance of family and friends and it can also relate to reality.

Something within him, something had grown there through the memories, told him to throw it away.”(129 Jonas is starting to become more independent. Him throwing away his pill shows that he doesn’t listen to the Communities rules and makes his own choices.
When Gabe and Jonas fell of the bike Lowry writes that, Jonas instinctively grabs for Gabe to make sure he is unharmed while, Jonas rolls his own ankle. Jonas was worried about Gabe before himself. This shows that Jonas is a good person at heart and wouldn’t want Gabe to be injured because he cares about him.
Jonas releases the memories to the Community. Jonas released the memories to the Community so they can experience emotions and happy or sad memories. This was selfless of Jonas because we cared about the Community before himself. When Johnny got jumped he didn't want to walk home by himself because he was too scared for his life. But he realizes that being scared is not the solution. He decided to carry a 6 inch pocket knife so that no Socs will jump him and after that no Soc messed with him.Significantly,he is a good friend to his gang when they really need him.Even tho johnny wasn't loved in his house he was loved in his gang. When his gang needs him he will always drop whatever he is doing to be their with them like the time when the Socs was drowning Ponyboy So Johnny had to take action in his own hands by fatally stabbing Bob in the back. Most importantly,Johnny rescued kids from a church fire and dies for them. When Johnny was coming home from his little runaway with ponyboy he turned around and saw that the church they were staying in was on fire. They turned around to help the kids out of the fire. When they got everyone out of the fire it was too late for Johnny to get out before the ceiling collapsed on him. Before he knew it he was in the hospital fighting for his life.Sadly johnny didn't make it but he will always be remembered as the 16 year old kid who risked his life for others. He grew as a character, he rescued kids from a church fire, He is good to his gang/friends.Jonny grew as a kid from being the scared little puppy that has been kicked too many times, but now he is a tough sixteen year old boy who nobody messes with.
