         <title>Module 1. Europeana: transform education with digital culture             </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>What Is Cultural Heritage?</strong><br>Cultural heritage is a gift that comes from past generations, and must be preserved for future generations. We can preserve our cultural heritage first of all at school, explaining to our students the respect for our natural and cultural patrimony, as well as the importance of our traditions. The beauty of a landscape can be fixed with a photo, or a painting, of a video clip; at the same time the identity of a social group can be recognized thanks to memory, poetry, tastes and scents. We should fight against every generalization and trivialization! <br><br><strong>2018:European Year of Cultural Heritage</strong></div><div>I will organize a visit for foreign visitors to the museum "Gabriele d'Annunzio’s birthplace",  which occupies the first floor of the building where the Poet was born and spent his childhood in Pescara; it maintains the original atmosphere of the nineteenth century, with its elegant wall decorations and its furnishing, as it appears in his prose poem Notturno. My students will explain the architectonical and cultural aspects of the ancient house, with its vaulted ceilings, the wall decorations and the elegant nineteenth-century furniture. <br> </div><h1><strong>(European) Cultural Heritage in Education</strong></h1><div>I'm an Art History teacher in an Artistic High school, and cultural heritage is an essential part of our curriculum. I'm a CLIL teacher too, (I'm the person in charge for this teaching methodology) and in these last years I'm working and experiencing a lot. At the same time my school has been partner in some Comenius projects, and this year we are partner in two Erasmus+ projects. All these activities are strictly related to Cultural Heritage.<br><strong>Introduction to Europeana</strong></div><div>The Europeana website is a very interesting platform, where a teacher can find many interesting contents to use with students. I have appreciated the art section - EUROPEANA ART - in which  we can find a lot of images (1.189.672!!!!), many texts, videos, sound recordings and 3D objects to make our lessons more interesting  and to improve the CLIL teaching techniques, thanks to the wide range of languages.<br><br></div>]]></description>

A WebQuest is an <em>inquiry-oriented</em><strong> </strong>online tool to  learn (by <em>Bernie Dodge)</em>. WebQuests bring together the most effective instructional practices into one integrated student activity. WebQuests use strategies to increase student motivation, develop thinking skills, and encourage a cooperative learning process.</div>]]></description>
