Issue : The necessity of atomic bomb in stopping world War 2
Given factor: Atomic Bomb
Other factors: necassary: USA was already winning (industrial prowess) , humanitarian reasons (severity and how it affected civilians rather than the Japanese military) , Japan's inability to fight a long war (unable to reinforced conquered areas)
measure: Impact of actions

Unecessary: Japan's unwillingness to surrunder (death before dishonour) unconditionally, the need to end the war quickly.

The usage of the atomic bomb is necessary due to the unwillingness of Japan to surrender unconditionally. In order to prevent further conflict, the USA sought to make Japan surrender unconditionally, which would prevent them from feeling unfair about the arrangement like that of the Germans in WW1, which was arguably what started another war after the first great War. By using the atomic bomb, USA sent a fast and efficient message to threaten Japan into surrendering unconditionally., leading to a complete surrender of Japan, while preventing further conflict from happening in the far future.

However, usage of the atomic bomb can be consider unnecessary due to the fact that the Americans were winning the war at the time anyway. The Japanese were definitely losing to USA in terms of industrial and technological capabilities, and would definitely not win a war of attrition against America, making the usage of the atomic bomb unnecessary as the USA had a high chance of ending the war without it
