The continent of Gracemeria is a temperate climate zone surrounded by extensive rolling woodland, sweeping planes, and tall mountains. Compared to other continents in the world, Gracemeria is relatively tiny, only having a handful of major population centers, situated mostly on the coast.

About the Gate

The gate is a mysterious Dimensional Portal which appeared in a downtown district in Toronto, Canada in 20xx, connecting to Gracemeria. as soon as it appeared, the Imperial Army invaded through the Gate and began to indiscriminately kill or capture every civilians by terrorism they encountered, and overwhelming attempts by police forces to halt their advance failed.

Military forces of the UN and NATO eventually counterattacked, swiftly ending the conflict. Upon sending a armed force of vehicles through the gate, they found that it connected to Gracemeria. Eventual translation of the local launguage resulted in diplomatic ties forming, preventing another battle from occuring

In addition to normal humans, the land of Gracemeria is inhabited by a number of humanoid races, many of which are oppressed by the human majority, at least in the Empire. These races include typical "fantasy" races, most notably elves and goblins, as well as a number of people possessing animal-like features

The Empire

The Empire, sometimes called the Empire of Sadterra or the Sadterran Empire, is a pre-industrial, militaristic, and autocratic state without an official name located in Gracemeria and ruled by the Emperor, where it runs in a hegemonic system with many vassal states. As an imperium dominatus it controls most of Gracemeria

The Imperial government is nearly identical to the Roman Dominate Period (the ruling System of the Roman Empire in the late Antiquity from 284-630AD) in which the Emperor is nearly an absolute monarch. He has the responsibility for the overall policy of the state and its diplomacy and has the final authority on most matters of state.

Flora and fauna of Gracemeria

Much of the flora and fauna of the Special Region is similar or practically identical to those on Earth, among the species shown or referenced include humans, cats, dogs, rabbits, snakes, vultures, and numerous plant species such as trees or grasses.

In addition to those species similar to those on Earth, there are a number of typical "fantasy" species. In addition to specific humanoid races such as elves or goblins, dragons are also commonplace, including smaller dragons used as mounts by the Imperial Army

The Imperial Army

The Imperial Army is the main army used by the Empire. The Imperial Army is similar in appearance and structure of the real-world Roman army of its mid Imperial period, being made up primarily of formations of heavy infantry armed with spears, swords, large rectangular shields, and utilizing Roman testudo formations in battles. Also present in the military are cavalry, archers, siege engines such a battering rams, ballistae, and trebuchets, and dragon riders. Aux forces are provided by both human and goblin vassal and clientele states of the Empire.

While the Empire is very Roman-like, their Tech level is particularly more late-medieval. For instance the Imperial cavalry, who are typically similar in appearance to medieval knights, clad in plate armor and armed with swords and lances. Other medieval weaponry used by the Empire include halberds and trebuchets.

One difference from the ancient Roman Army is the fact that the Imperial Army does employ a kind of Air Force in the form of the Wyvern corps. These are soldiers who are trained to ride wyverns (dragons with winged forearms). They are normally armed with lances and use the wyverns' ability to breathe fire to attack enemy troops on the ground. They are the ancient equivalent of ground-support aircraft as the helicopters and jets.

Local Military bases in Gracemeria, run by Earth defense forces

Initially, all bases and FoB bases consisted mostly of tents and other mobile housing, defended by barbed wire and entrenched with vehicles and weapon emplacements.

After a few months of development, the bases were greatly expanded with the construction of structures serving as barracks, mess halls, command centers, armories, firing ranges, motor pools, and landing facilities for both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The bases are the first, and thus far only area in Gracemeria with the full-scale use of modern electricity, indoor plumbing, and cell phone services. The bases are defended by large concrete walls with guard towers, turrets, and anti-air gun emplacements, in a star fort shaped pattern similar to that of an 18th century bastion fort.

At some point, schools are set up in the bases to teach the language of both sides, with the Imperial diplomats learning English and English diplomats learning the Imperial language.

Please distinguish where the oc is from, earth or whichever city/town in Gracemeria
also to keep with the setting, please don’t make characters with magic that are from earth, only ocs that are from Gracemeria can use magic (fantasy land and all that)
if you make an oc, please use them! if not, delete them— i don’t want unused oc cards cluttering things up
you can have up to four ocs unless otherwise stated
