Lots of students would get stuck and then just sit there not knowing what to do. One way to help with this would be to have a visual aid up somewhere so that they could look and see what they are supposed to do next. It could also be helpful to make sure and outline the schedule multiple times and have the students repeat it.

She does this by referring to the activity as four corners. She places different topics on each corner. She then turns on music and students walk around and write their sentences. Students are then asked to explain why they are at that corner, and choose to share their sentence. This is a great way to get students actively moving.

One barrier discussed in the website given is when students do not know key vocabulary terms. This is something I struggled with as a young student growing up, so it is very relatable. While knowing key vocabulary in a lesson can be essential for a student in order for them to understand the lesson, there can be ways to go about it. One way to help with this is to overall be supportive and helpful to the student. Often these students will not speak up about a word they do not understand, so be sure to allow that student to get comfortable with you as a teacher, so they do ask you questions. The second thing I would do would provide the student with daily visual aids of new vocabulary words so their vocabulary knowledge increases. It would also be a great idea for students to create webs of new words.

I clicked on the fractions section under math and science. Students deal with the idea of fractions all the time before formally dealing with them in school. From a very young age, students share and work on proportionality. Teachers should build on this to help build fraction concepts. For example, having them figure out how many toy cars each of them can get to have the exact same number. They could find this by counting, drawing a picture, etc.
