'It starts with active listening, a form of listening that builds on a serious engagement and inquisitiveness in the here-and-now event (Dahlberg (2012 p. 226). In regards to our learning content, I believe that this video demostrates what occurs when we solely focus on one purpose (the movement of the team), which becomes detrimental to our vision as we miss the movement of the gorilla and the colours of the curtain changing.

The Alchemist, Novel by Paulo Coelho

The novel The Alchemist written by Paulo Coelho, questions the meaning of life and what governs our purpose. Through moving The Parallaxis, I too am pondering my existence and what worth I have to offer this vast universe. Would children understand such a reflective concept, and what can we as educators do to promote this thinking?

Dahlberg (2012) magnifies the significance 'to make the familiar seem unfamiliar, to make invisible assumptions and values more visible, and to make explicit the thoughts that are largely tacit in the way in which we govern and are governed' (p. 228). Despite our temporary existence in this limitless universe, what can we do to ensure a fruitful life is achieved for ourselves and others? What does a fulfilling life look like?

The soft sunset is accompanied by the chirping of several birds in my neighbourhood, all with their own unique pitch and song. There isn't much movement here anymore, the noise levels caused by humans have come to a halt.
The street often busy with many people going for walks is now seen empty due to the current pandemic circumstances. Will life ever be considered normal again after this virus? Do we return to our old habits or embark on new ones to decrease the likelihood of this experience from occurring again in the future? If new behaviours are adopted, what can we educators do to show children in early childhood settings the new way of life?

Changes

A contrasting sky abstracted from The Parallaxis compared to the one I experienced in my neighbourhood. I can hear the loud lightning strike accompanied by a heavy rainfall, only to come to a complete stop, welcoming the sun to join its madness.
The striking difference of the two photos reminds me that change is a constant that will always be present. Regardless of whether good or bad, change is experienced by everyone, even in the tiniest ways. For instance, living in Melbourne has taught me that there can be four seasons within the same day. While someone living in another region of Australia will lack this bipolar weather change.
This makes me wonder, how do children cope with change? How does a child with learning difficulties cope with change? What can parents and educators do to ease and transition children into an unknown future

There are endless doors to discover on The Parallaxis; a boundless, uninterrupted non-linear place for one to fully immerse in. From switching between the narrow alleyways and to pictures of the infinite sky, it truly makes me feel small in this world . Exploring one singular place manifests a unique experience for every individual. Each place is understood with an exclusive pair of lenses founded by one’s walk of life.

If I had a twin who too was raised in the same environment as I was, would we share a similar standpoint, or would we be contrastingly different due to our personal experiences? How is this shown? Will this notion be present in twins that I one day may face in an early childhood setting? What attributes will be displayed for me to recognize the disparities?

To recreate this song with children, a variety of playful instruments such as the maracas, rainsticks or drums can help create the harmonious notes. Children will be moving their instrument to the beat and listening to the melody to achieve the song. Children can learn the dance by mimicking educators or moving their bodies to their own understanding.
