I enjoyed the way my group worked together and how we were able to bring it all together to be able to pull off a performance we are all comfortable with and can feel connected to as our own. The time we had was challenging because we has two less days than the rest of the class because all three of us had CPR/First Aid Training. But we pulled it all together and very clean and well done despite having the shorter timeline. We can improve our transitions a bit nearing the end. There would be a beat or two we could've inserted a little something more. I learned that I am not a bad a dancer as I thought in relation to the others in my class. I learned the steps and we rehearsed them until they are almost second nature. The spacing is the challenging part because there are five girls dancing in the corner along with a big set piece. This process can improve by adequately adapting to our environment with humility. I like the confidence I can exude during the moves because it is good, easy choreo that I feel comfortable with. I least like the somewhat awkward second entrance. I feel the energy level falls mostly on Avery and I as we walk to the front of the stage because the other girls feel awkward and unsure, instead of just selling it. I did not participate in the pop performance due to special circumstances, but if I did participate I feel I would have aced it. I can bring my character to life through bringing total confidence to the stage. My character is strong, confident, sassy, and outgoing. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, even if it's a little subject for concern. I am most excited for the High Adventure choreo. It has been so fun learning it. I am most scared something will go wrong and I will have to step into a role I am not prepared for (which is highly unlikely). I can quell these fears by watching and learning all I can just on the off chance its needed. I do not need to ensure I am a purposeful member of this production because I know I am already valued and useful even if it was mostly during the process and little during performance. I hope to achieve the feeling that I have contributed and are a important part of this production no matter how many setbacks I have faced. The message and movements in this song tells the story of an amazing prince who was come from far away with unimaginable amounts of wealth, he has come to win the heart of the princess of Agrabah by creating this fantastical parade lead by the Genie and his three friends Babkak Omar and Kassim. This story is presented through the forwards movements of the dancers to make it seem like a long parade and a great multitude of dancers. We utilize canons and call and response to make fun intricacies. Also waves are used as dancers move and transition into different formations and poses throughout the number. My character connects to this theme through her confidence and common place look.
