  3. Reflection: I think that, in general, most people have the same idea of what online learning is. The term itself is very straight forward- learning that is done online. Under the umbrella of Online Learning is when we begin to see varying degrees of specificity, such as Hybrid Learning, Flipped Learning, Blended Learning, etc. I liked what I saw on the Tony Bates website about Online Learning being a continuum; I think that is really the best way to describe it because it can encompass so many different things and modalities.

3. Reflection: The research shows that most scholars tend to frame these definitions in very similar ways. I think the most variances occur when you think about these definitions for different educational levels (such as university vs elementary) or for certain learning purposes (general ed vs homeschooling). They vary in perspective depending on the use for online learning. However, the general definitions seem to be homogenous.

    Reflection:
    Both definitions are from sites trying to sell either their online courses or their blended learning courses, but I feel like these definitions really highlight the benefits, advantages, and nuances of both learning experiences. According to these definitions, the main difference between the two types of learning is that online learning refers to the delivery method and blended learning focuses on the effectiveness of the integration of both traditional methods of teaching and digital learning.

    Reflection: 
    In many sites that I looked at, it seemed as though the sites were trying to persuade me to believe that the method was the most successful choice. In looking for definitions, I was presented with many arguments for that type of learning and the advantages in that type of learning. I do not doubt that any of it is correct and it reassured me about the ways in which it is being used. A few college sites were arguing for online learning as being a great and flexible way of pursuing an education.

    4. Reflection:
    Online learning and Blended learning definitions are very similar. I remember writing a paper on CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) two years ago. There were so many definitions and little differences between what practices such as acupuncture, meditation, etc. were included or excluded, which made it hard to support my thesis with data, and I see a similar problem with Online and Blended learning definitions.

    Reflection: A lot of the definitions that I researched shared the similarity of defining online learning as a "tool" for students to access/complete tasks completely through an online interface. In addition, the definitions of blended learning were similar as well in that they all bring up this "combination" of learning.
