I think is was really hard that when we transfer our idea to reality, it was a mess. Especially there are a group of people and everyone had their own opinion of it, that makes me think of how hard it is to make a protest with unity and clear concept.
A list of our bodies can do in the space-action
Lay, Sit, Taping, human chain, March, Walk, Raise, Kneel, Resist, Abandon, Pull, Push, Drag.....

During past two weeks, we read Susan Leigh Forster's essay, 'Choreographies of Protest'. and also we watched the ACT UP documentary which is really powerful and i started have more clear concept of the meaning of protest and the motivation behind those people. At the same time, choreography is kind of similar to protest however we have different purpose to do the action. Normally, those choreographers want to either share their stories on stage or remind people to concern about society issues etc. and even just sharing how amazing the dancers utilize their body, however people who build up a protest has important mission and also they are observing by the whole society and medias. they need to be well-structured and keep calm to achieve their demand. what i feel similar between choreography and protest is expression. In order to make a structured piece and let people keep passion about that, you need a good leader(choreographer), several followers(dancers), and space(stage).

The five components in the structural model is
Relationship, Body, Space, Action, Dynamics.

In this class, we learned shape could be straight or curved. It could be use body parts to draw in the space such as square, round, ball. Also we could use body parts to create there different line in the body. It reminds me a bigger imagination when we choreograph a piece that utilizes our body to travel the whole space and also drawing a different patten either in our body and emphasize the shape.

By creating choreographed movements and performances, activists can communicate their messages in a way that is both creative and impactful, drawing attention to social and political issues and inspiring changes.

That is how appropriate the dance industry right now they are not only looking for certain types of dancer but the most importantly is how we become an individual artist and then corporate with many experts. What is contemporary dance? What is dance means to you? We are able to create our own answer in the future.

In the second week of this term, we are taught to improvisation by ourselves but with partner observed
The improvisational score was we doing the movement and the partner guiding me to do different movements such as change body part, speed, size, gaze, level, direction and so on. At that moment I feel really helpful to abandon my body habits and so think about more that how can I utilize my whole body in the space and not only think about moving my body.
When I watched the video from outside eye I was surprised that how I looked like with my habits even if my partner tried to lead me in the different way. I find out that our body is really smart to adjust our body to feel more safe and comfortable. Although I mentally and physically feel quire tired doing this practice, it still looks not powerful and creative enough in my opinion.
This task is really inspring and useful for me to not only think about improvisation but also gives me more ideas in choreography. We usually limited ourselves through inner voice and it is great to have someone observe you and give you directions. I believe during this partner work we could get benefit from each other and attempt more ideas when we doing creative work by our own.

We were asked for creating the sound in the group(cannot use pre-recoded sound) and perform to the audiences. At the beginning, our group was talking about different ideas and we inspired by a dream which is a mermaid boy swimming in the ocean and become a human. we discovered the ocean sound through using the water bottle and played with it. Firstable, we up side down the water bottle with our head moving and then we pouring water to different container, and then exhale through paper straw to create bubbling sound. When we perform the sound, we asked our peers to lay down on the floor and then we started to improvised different sound through we made. It was an amazing experience to find out the sound but not in the normal way that we think and also discuss possibility in the studio and create an unexpected piece to others with clear idea------water.

During the contextual studies by Sam Wilson, we have learned the difference between structuralist, poststructuralism and deconstruction. It reminds me the history of dance that how ballet develop during the time and gradually turns into different dance format to modern dance, post modern dance and now contemporary dance. For structuralist, it has binary oppositions which defined to be a correct answer such as nature and culture. By thinking beyond the nature in dance, we can decipher a dance’s code and structures.

Structuralist five aspects:

The frame

The mode of representation

The vocabulary

The style

The syntax

Poststructuralism is decentred subjectivity and the ''inner'' meaning comes from ''outside''. Yet, they are that which enable us to ''speak''

Deconstruction approaches share some concerns with poststructuralism ones.
