It was the first day of school. During recess, children were running around the yard and playing ball. At that moment, Mert noticed a child standing quietly in the corner. This child was Arda. Arda had autism and the crowd was making him a little nervous.

Mert approached him slowly. “Hello, I’m Mert. Would you like to draw with me?” he said. Arda was a little shy at first, but Mert’s smile put him at ease.

Arda loved colors. He would express his feelings not with words but with pictures. Mert looked at a rainbow he had drawn and said, “This is so beautiful!”

From that day on, Mert and his friends started drawing pictures with Arda during breaks. They now knew Arda’s world better.

Over the weekend, Mert invited Arda to the park. His other friends came too. They rode their bikes and played hide-and-seek. Arda had a lot of fun, but he loved the “dream house” they built together under the tree the most.

“Let this be our secret place,” Mert said. Arda nodded, smiling widely.

There was a “Talent Day” at school. Arda would draw and Mert would play the guitar. Then they had a great idea: They would go on stage together!

When the day of the show came, Arda drew the rainbow while Mert played the guitar next to him. Everyone applauded them standing.

Part 5

Now Arda felt safer at school and in the neighborhood. Because he had friends who understood him, listened to him and had fun with him.

Mert and his friends also learned that being different meant opening the door to a colorful world.

The next day in class, the teacher told everyone, “Draw the world of your dreams.” Everyone wrapped themselves in paper with pastel crayons. Arda’s eyes lit up. He started drawing without raising his hand.

There was a rainbow on the paper, dahlias underneath, and a tree house on the side. Mert came to Arda with curiosity and looked at the drawing.

“These are so beautiful! Is this your dream world?” he asked.

Arda nodded silently. Mert smiled: “I want to live in this world with you.”

On the weekend, Mert invited Arda and his other friends to the park. Although Arda was a little hesitant at first, his mother smiled and said, “Go, you’ll have fun.”

Mert and the other children were jumping rope and playing hide-and-seek in the park. Arda went to a corner away from the crowd. There, under a large tree, he started to make a small place with a few old branches, stones and a blanket.

When Mert saw him, he ran to him. “What is this?” he asked.

Arda answered softly: “My dream house…”

“Great! Let this be our secret cabin!” Mert said excitedly.

The other children came and asked, “Should we help too?” Together they placed branches and covered them with blankets. They put pillows inside and called it the “Dream House.”

Now they had a secret place. Each child brought something there: a book, a toy, a lantern… But most importantly, everyone brought their heart.

Arda looked at Mert's drawing, and anger began to disappear, replaced with a smile. Inspired, he reached for the notebook and began to draw a rainbow himself. Friends joined, creating colorful paintings and singing a song together. The rainy day turned into joyful, creative moments, full of laughter and harmony.

Arda understood that even when something breaks down, thanks to the support of friends you can create something even more beautiful. That day he understood that joy could be found by sharing your passion and common creativity.
