You can build trust by having a positive attitude and deliver to people what they need and want. Advising builds trust. The more you deliver on your promises, the more you build trust with others. Matt went to the airport and met up with Randy which shared advice about operating a business after two failed attempts. Randy mentioned about principles that are easy to understand but difficult to implement such as "Most people blame others for their circumstances. They think the reason they fail is because of the government, their upbringing, race, educational background, or other outside factors."

He seems detached from both his realities. Jerry is in his early 80’s.  Unbeknownst to family and friends, the cancer he beat 14 years ago has returned.  Jerry is being encouraged to have a succession plan in place of who will replace him as president and CEO at Turnbow as he is nearing retirement. He is determined to be patient in finding the right person.  He had hoped someone in his family would succeed him, however, his son Bruce does not have a desire and his grandsons are not interested and not ready.  The Turnbow leadership team decides to review external candidates before considering internal candidates.  Jerry is interested in someone personable like him with fresh, vibrant energy and ideas to move the company forward.

His grandfather, who's the CEO of the company, approached him and complemented his leadership and hard work but was most proud of his growth as a person and how he has been a leader in his family. His grandfather soon asked him to become the next CEO of the company but also allowed him to think about it and talk it over with his family. He remembered the conversation he had with Jerry. "What decision would I be proud of making twenty years from now?" After talking it over with his family, it was decided that he would take over, work hard but not forget about taking time off and focus on what's more important. Afterall, "Life is so much better when you're living with a greater purpose."
