         <title>Stage Four: School Age</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During this stage, the subject became more in tune with learning at a grade school level and learned "how to learn" and be successful through listening to directions to complete more complicated tasks and assignments.&nbsp; With the help of parents and teachers, the subject was able to achieve a moderate level of success in school work and relationship building with teachers. Erikson says, "They have had time to internalize rules for good conduct. This change leads children to become considerably more independent and trustworthy."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During this stage, the subject began to find challenges to their beliefs and the beliefs he was raised with.&nbsp; During this stage, the subject created relationships with others outside of the comfort zone of his parents.&nbsp; This crisis was resolved through the development of relationships that helped the subject strike out on new adventures and explore his opportunities outside of what he had known growing up in his home.&nbsp; He began to look at career choices and whether a college education would be a part of his life. Our book states, "Learn the value of the division of labor, and develop a sense of moral commitment and responsibility."</div>]]></description>

In our book, we are reminded that "We also know that some individuals are affected more than others by their homes, neighborhoods, and communities."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>At this point, the subject feels there is much success in his life while acknowledging that there are some regrets.&nbsp; He feels this is normal and those regrets will pass as he progresses to the later stages of his life.&nbsp; From our book, we are reminded that "people who successfully resolve psychological conflict identity versus role confusion construct a unified self-definition based on self-chosen values and goals." At this point, he is happy in the fact that he and his wife have raised four kids into adults and looks forward to the more rewarding years with new successes and challenges.</div>]]></description>
