A couple of summers ago, my good friend, Kelly, moved to Portland. That same summer, Taleen and I went to visit her. We had the best time seeing her again, and we made so many memories that I would never forget. The songs that remind me of this trip are Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne and I Like Me Better by Lauv. Stacy's Mom is a fond memory of Oregon because Kelly introduced the song to us. After that, we would always jam out to it. Washington reminds me of the song I Like Me Better because of the movie, To All the Boys I've Loved Before. My friend Taleen and I both read the book before the movie came out, and we were obsessed. In the Netflix original movie, in the scene where they go on the ski trip, the song by Lauv is playing. This reminds me of Washington because the woods that they drive through looks exactly like Washougal. These were some of the best days of my life, with some really great memories. The song, One Last Time, by Ariana Grande reminds me of this time because it would always play when we would drive to Valencia. It would also play while we were in the park, and we would jam out to it while it played. It was such a good time when we were all stress free and happy. However, we were not able to go because of my heart surgery. This bummed us all out, especially me, because we were looking forward to a really fun summer. Because of this, my parents rented a beach house in Dana Point for a weekend, and I was able to invite two of my friends. I invited my good friends, Shaina and Sydney, who I went to middle school with. It was super fun, and we had a room that was separate from all of the others. While in there, we would jam out to music, watch Victorious episodes, and eat snacks. A lot of the time, we listened to either Shawn Mendes, Khalid, or Billie Eilish. I also made a GoPro edit about it. The song, Broken by Lovely the Band, reminds me of this time because that was the song that I used for the edit. As well as this, the Shawn Mendes song, Honest, and the Khalid and Alina Baraz song, Electric reminds me of Dana Point. A lot of our family members, such as our grandparents and cousins live there, as well as many of our family friends. When we would visit, we would stay in Long Island for most of the time, and then visit the city. As well as this, we would go to Washington D.C. and New Jersey. The songs Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran and Tragedy by DIGY always remind me of San Diego. This is because these are both good vibes songs that make me feel good and free.
