Upholstered furniture often comes in neutral colors like, white, beige, black, and more. Some materials that the furniture is most often made of is wool, cotton, linen, silk, and jute to add texture to the room. Even though the style is overall really simple it says that you should always play with bold colored, geometric accents to make the room more vibrant and alive. As I've already said the Contemporary interior design really goes after the saying less is more, you should really stick to basic, bare, structural, and with a few bold pieces. The flooring in the style is very simple and is usually wood, tile, or vinyl and you can use bright geometric rugs to add a pop of color into the room. Generous uses of metal, glass, and stone are perfect for the contemporary interior design. Don't go overboard with the colors in this style because it can ruin the overall flow of the room. You should instead use more two-tone pieces like zebra or leopard print. We ended up buying three pillows and a new couch. Based on the research I have done about different styles I would say that the pillows that we bought are in the farmhouse or rustic design style. I haven't studied the farmhouse style yet but based on what I already know I am pretty sure that it would fit into that style really well. The couch that we bought is a brown/caramel leather couch. This style of couch is typically found in the mid century modern design style and rustic style. The paint color that we chose is a slightly off white color. It looks white but if you look hard enough you can tell that there is a little yellowish tint in it. The rug that we have has a lot of pattern and the colors of the rug is like a rainbow. My cousin Joaquin is a really good photographer so we were going to ask him if we could go through his photos and print some of the ones we like out.
