Carl: You better go to bed, I need you for something tomorrow.

Jody: What, are we going to kill the pig?

Carl: nevermind, just go to bed.

Narrator: When the door closed, Jody heard Billy Buck and Carl chuckeling. Jody thought that it was some sort of joke. It was the next day.

Carl: come with us after breakfast.

 Ruth: Don’t keep him from school.

 Narrator: Jody and Carl marched past the cypress tree, there was a red pony cult staring at jody.

 Carl: He needs a good currying. And if I ever see you not taking care of him when you are supposed to, I’m selling him.

 Jody: So he’s mine?

 Narrator: no one answered.
Jody: Wait, there isn't a saddle.
Billy: looks like I forgot. Come with me.
Jody: where did you get him?
Billy: Oh, I bought him at the Sheriff's auction...
Here it is, It's not very practical for the brush, but it was cheap at the sale.
Jody: if he doesn't have a name, I'll name her Gabilan Mountain.
Billy: That is a pretty long name, why don't you just call him Gabilan, It means hawk. It would be a fine name for him.
Jody: Can talk him to school, to show the kids.
Billy: he is not even halter-broke yet. You have to nearly drag him for him to move. You better start training him after school.
Jody: I'll bring the kids after school.
Narrator: A few hours later.
Boy: why don't we ride him.
Jody: He's is not old enough to ride, it is going to talk a long time to train him.
Narrator: Training began in the early fall, but it was cut short because jody had to go to school. 
Billy was taking a break and left the pony alone. it started to rain.
